Lottie was excited for this year. She hoped they would do well! She had a good amount of optimism and they were doing well in practices already. There were some new players who were newly second years, but that was fine. It wasn't just skill, but also about how they got along in a team, and she felt like they had a good team.
Rose grabbed the Quaffle quickly and Lottie followed along behind her. Someone was trying to bump the Quaffle out of her, but held strong and attempted to score. Unfortunately she wasn't successful, but then the Quaffle was flying back towards Lottie. She caught it and tried to score as well, hoping that Lia wouldn't expect it and might miss.

It was Blaise's first year on the main Quidditch team and he was excited but he was also nervous. He wanted to do well! At least he was just a Chaser. If he were a Seeker, he couldn't imagine the amount of pressure he'd feel from it.
They had many practices before the big first game and he found that he worked very well with Lottie and Rose. It did help that they were already great friends!
Rose was showing her worth right away when she grabbed the Quaffle and tried to score. Blaise could see Lottie on her tail in case anything happened and he didn't want to crowd them, so he also flew towards the goal posts, but he was flying more on the left side of the field. Maybe they would get in a bind and need to pass a bit further away to stop one of the opposing Chasers from getting the Quaffle and he would be in a good position for that.
Thankfully it didn't get that hairy with the Hufflepuff attempting to take the Quaffle, but Blaise stayed more on the left side of the field, though he narrowed a little bit closer to the goal posts.

The game was certainly moving fast. Don was a little disappointed that Lia managed to block the goal, although he knew he should be glad for her - Keeper wasn't even her main role, she was doing so well. Now that the Quaffle was being handled by other Chasers, he lowered the poster again. The Hufflepuff boy was no longer on Rose's heels, and the older Beater saved her from the Bludger. He tried to watch the Quaffle for a moment, to see if it would go through one of the hoops this time.

Just as she'd predicted, the game wasn't that interesting. Nobody had scored yet, nobody was getting hit with a Bludger, nobody was performing advanced manoeuvres - or any named manoeuvres at all. Olivia's eyes began to wander over the crowd, watching the people entranced by the game rather than the game itself. It was intriguing to observe the excitement spread like some sort of contagion, even though nothing spectacular was taking place.

Here little Snitch! Gavyn was bored as he looked keenly for the golden snitch. He trusted his team's Beaters to get the bludgers being hit at him, so all he had to do was head away from those and do his job. No need for fancy movements to distract him. If there was no snitch spotted there was no need to go about making it all the more difficult to spot it. It was terribly difficult to spot a tiny golden ball, however, so he suspected it was going to be some time before he did regardless.

With the game now in full swing, Henri did one loop around the field before looking over to his team mates and noticed the wuaffle flying mid air. Naturally, he did his best to try and intervene the wuaffle mid air though he knew if he couldn't get to the wuaffle fast enough then Lia would hopefully be able to block the Quaffle.

Lia almost couldn’t believe it. She’d blocked the quaffle! She had actually prevented them from scoring a goal! She barely had time to celebrate, however, as another Gryffindor chaser snatched up the free falling ball, and tried to score once again. She quickly veered on her broom, hoping to block that one as well.

Unfortunately Rose’s first attempt had not been successful, disappointing her slightly, but she did not have time to dwell on the matter as the quaffle was not free for anybody to grab. Before she could snap up the ball, however, Lottie got possession and tried to score once again. Rose smiled proudly. Good, they still had the advantage, and hopefully that meant eventually one of their attempts would succeed.

Henri stayed put where he was getting closer to Lia as she attempted to block the goal knowing that if she was successful then he would be able to snipe in and get the quaffle. He continued to cheer for his team knowing that it would be difficult for anyone to hear him even if he decided to cheer on Lia from a distance.

Blaise let out a disappointed huff when the Hufflepuff Keeper blocked the Quaffle again. He swooped in, hoping to grab the Quaffle and take a shot but one of the Hufflepuffs grabbed it. He tried to knock into him, hoping he would drop it, but he didn't want to actually hurt him.

Another attempt on goal, another shot blocked. Luckily a Hufflepuff chaser grabbed it this time, so Lia had a moment of reprieve. She stared at her gloved hands incredulously. She had done that. Her. The girl who could barely go a day without tripping over her own feet, or dropping something or other, had actually been successful in a physical activity. With a broad grin she returned her attention to the field, ready now for the next attempt by the Gryffindor chasers.

Feeling the other chaser bump him caused him only to grip onto the quaffle a bit stronger as he continued to zoom past the other members getting closer to the Gryffindor goals.

No golden glint yet but there was a lot of flying around happening as the Chasers all fought to get the quaffle in. Beaters smacking cludgers around, Keepers well, keeping he supposed. And he was just avoiding running into people while looking for the Snitch. If he could only find it early he could try and snatch it for his team and Gryffindor could secure the first win of the season. Hopefully anyway!
