Blaise was looking in various compartments until he saw someone in his year. Luckily it ended up being one of his best friends, Ella. "Hey, Ella!" he exclaimed as he got inside with his backpack. He put it on the seat beside him before taking a seat there himself. "How's it going?" Of course, they talked a bunch during the summer. It wasn't like he hadn't talked to her at all in months. But that would be the case with many of his classmates.

Then came Thalia. Blaise was excited to see her too. They weren't really supposed to talk, but after their discussion last year about it, he decided that rule was stupid. But he also didn't see any need to bring her up all the time to his mum anyway. She must have known they did talk sometimes because of the events in June, but she had been too busy worrying about what happened to worry about the fact that Thalia had been there. At least, she never mentioned it. Though maybe it was fine that they were in a large group together at the time. Maybe she just didn't want him to be alone with her. Though he didn't know why that would be. It's not like she would be dangerous and might hurt him or something. He couldn't think of any other reason being alone together might be a bad thing to his mum.

Thalia hugged him and it was nice, albeit a little awkward. Was it awkward because it was nice? Well it definitely wasn't nice because it was awkward.

"It's okay. I hope your owl is doing better!" That sucked they couldn't get another owl or borrow one from someone. Couldn't they just go to the post office? Oh, well. Maybe her parents didn't want to do that just so she could write to her friends. They didn't seem all that nice. But Thalia was different. Blaise wasn't ashamed to be Eliza's son at all. She was great! But he was learning that it wasn't the same for everyone and some people were better than their parents and shouldn't be judged for what their parents did.

"Oh, uh, not yet." Blaise stood up and peaked out the compartment to see if he could see him in the corridor. "No, not yet." They did have many friends so there might not be room for Dustin if someone else came. It wouldn't make sense to kick someone out just because Dustin arrived. But even if that happened, they would see each other at the castle. Though it did suck that Dustin was in a different House, so they couldn't even sit together at the feast.

"How was your summer, though?" Blaise asked. Since they really didn't get to talking the summer, it was a far more valid question for Thalia than Ella. Blaise started to pull out something from his backpack as he spoke. It was some strawberries his mum packed. There were more desert things as well, but at least strawberries were good. He wanted to eat them first before getting into the sweets later!
