For the first time in ten years, the Great Hall was decorated in yellow and black. Gryffindor surprisingly ended up in last place and earned a total of 1504 points. While impressive, it wasn't as impressive as the other houses. For the last few months, it was anyone's guess as to who would win. Ravenclaw had been winning for the majority of the year, but they ended up in third place with 1947 points. Slytherin snuck into second place on the very last day of classes and earned a total of 2076 points. Hufflepuff took the House Cup with a grand total of 2554 points, which was more than they had ever earned before. They celebrated for the rest of the year and the rest of the school celebrated with them. After a decade, they deserved it (even some of the Slytherins were happy for them, but they didn't show it too often).

The race for the House Points was a shocker all year. Gryffindor and Slytherin trailed well behind Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, which was welcome change for the school. In the last month of school, Gryffindor shot ahead of them, leaving Slytherin in last place with 2,575 points. Despite Gryffindor's last minute collection of hundreds of points, they took third place with 2,834 points. It was quite impressive, but they were still well behind the other two houses. Competition was especially fierce this year between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. Ravenclaw hadn't had the House Cup for quite a while and wanted it back, while Hufflepuff was desperate not to let go of it. Who knew when they would get it back?
But in the end, only one of them triumphed. Hufflepuff took second place with 3,785 points and Ravenclaw took the House Cup with 3,859 points. They celebrated into the night, much to the dismay of some very disgruntled Hufflepuffs.

Either everyone was doing quite well in classes or rule breaking was at any all time low (or perhaps people just weren't getting caught) because the House Points were higher overall than they had been in years. Hufflepuff ended up in last place, yet they earned a total of 4,551 points. For most of the year, it was a close tie between Ravenclaw and Slytherin for second place, but in the end, Ravenclaw ended up in third place with 5,727. Gryffindor had been in the lead all year, up until the last month of school. They ended up in second place with 6,104 points, while Slytherin snuck into first place with 6,456 points. They celebrated into the night and gloated for the whole last day.

The race for the House Points was intense all year. Hufflepuff trailed behind again with only 2,592 points. Slytherin had a burst near the end, but still only managed to earn 3,974 points - not enough to reach Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. Ravenclaw had been in the lead for the second half of the year, right up until the last month when Gryffindor snuck up fast. Ravenclaw ended up in the dust with 5,817 points while Gryffindor took the House Cup (and the Quidditch Cup) with 5,859 points. They celebrated into the night, but they didn't gloat like the Slytherins had the year before. They were just happy to celebrate in their Common Room with yet another win.

It was neck and neck fighting for first and third place all term. But in the end, Hufflepuff ended up in last place with 3,595 points, despite their huge jump in the last couple of months of term. Gryffindor took third place with 3,744 points. Ravenclaw trailed behind Slytherin and obtained second place with 4,759 points. Slytherin won the House Cup with 4,962 points. They celebrated into the night and didn't neglect to boast about their win for the rest of term.

It was a tough race for the majority of the year between the leading two Houses. In the end, Gyffindor took last place with 2,799 points. Slytherin ended up in third place with 3,130, despite their big gain at the end of the term. It just wasn't enough to gain on Ravenclaw, though, who ended up in second place with 3,998 points. Hufflepuff won the House Cup for the first time in a long time with 4,016. They celebrated into the night, but preferred not to gloat about it, even though they were rather happy to have finally won again.

It was a tough race for most of the year, but it wasn't so intense in the last couple of months of school. All of the Houses' points were pretty spread apart. But everyone still did their best. Hufflepuff especially had a burst of speed at the end, but they couldn't collect enough points to make a difference. Gryffindor took last place with 1,912 points. Hufflepuff ended up in third place with 2,291 points. While Slytherin had some lead in the beginning of the year, they took second place with 2,875 points. Ravenclaw obtained the House Cup for the first time in five years with 3,109 points. They celebrated into the night in their common room, happy to have the House Cup once more.

It wasn't a very tough race during the term. The House in the lead was in the lead for at least half of the term and especially gained a lot at the end of term as well. Hufflepuff ended up in last place with 2,242 points, despite their burst nearing the end of the term. Ravenclaw took third place with 2,653 points. Slytherin took second place with 2,811 points, while Gryffindor took the House Cup with 3,947 points. After winning both the Quidditch Cup and House Cup, they celebrated well into the night.

Yet again, the winner was clearly in the lead for almost all of term, though it was a different House this time. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were battling for third and fourth with Hufflepuff trailing the whole time. But with a burst of speed, Ravenclaw ended up in last place with 1,103 points, while Hufflepuff took third pace with 1,183 points. Gryffindor tried their best and did gain on Slytherin a little, but it wasn't close enough to take home the House Cup. Gryffindor ended up with 1,444 points, while Slytherin took the House Cup finally with 2,019 points. They celebrated into the night, making sure to boast to the other Houses about their win.

For most of the term, the winner was pretty clear. Ravenclaw was far behind everyone else for most of the term but in the last month of term, they gained a burst of speed and almost tied the next House for a few days but then the other Houses sped ahead again. Ravenclaw ended up in last place with 1,327 points. Almost being in first place for a few days there, Slytherin ended up taking third place with 1,866 points. Gryffindor ended up in the lead a few times during the term, but in the end they took second place with 2,104 points while Hufflepuff finally took home the House Cup again with 2,168 points. They celebrated into the night - a well earned victory for all their hard work during the term and for the first time in five years.

It was a tough race all term. But in the end, Hufflepuff ended up in last place with 1,478 points. Slytherin wasn't that far ahead with 1,520 points. Ravenclaw took second place with 1,593 points and Gryffindor took the House Cup with 1,924 House Points. They celebrated into the night. They were very excited to be victorious again and to have the ability to brag about it, especially to the Slytherins who had been in the lead earlier in the year.

It was finally time for the House Cup. Many students tried to earn enough points for their House to win but in the end, only one did. It was a close race for the first part of the year, but in the last month, all the Houses had a pretty big gap. Hufflepuff ended up in last place with 1,935 points. Slytherin took third place with 2,277 points. Ravenclaw took third with 2,386 points and Gryffindor won the House Cup with 2,426 points. They celebrated into the night and hoped these two wins in a row would become a winning streak.

Unfortunately, the two wins in a row didn't turn into a third for Gryffindor. However, it wasn't for lack of trying. Last place was Hufflepuff with 2,677 points, which was very impressive in itself. Third place was Slytherin with 3,129, who seemed to be trailing for a lot of the year but really caught up near the end. However, it seemed to be too little, too late for the snakes. Gryffindor took home second place with 3,395 points, nearly overtaking Ravenclaw in the end. However, Ravenclaw had a last burst of points and left Gryffindor in their dust as they took home the House Cup with 3,544 points, for the first time in six years. They celebrated into the night, making sure to make the most of it and hoping they wouldn't have to wait so long again to win the House Cup once more.

After being in last place for three years in a row, the Hufflepuffs didn't want to get their hopes up even though they had a lead for most of the year. However, they didnt' end up in last place again. Surprisingly enough, Gryffindor did, with 2,353 points. Ravenclaw snuck into third with only a little bit more - 2,372 points. Slytherin took second place with 2,459 points. Hufflepuff wonthe House Cup for the first time in four years with 2,768 points. They tried to be humble about it, but they were very excited to win once again.

For two years in a row, the Great Hall was decorated in black and gold. This was a record. Hufflepuff was known for winning seldomly and then not winning for quite a few years after that one win. However, they were excited now by the prospect of a potential streak. But for now, they would have to just bask in the excitement of having the House Cup once more.
While Hufflepuff was celebrating, Ravenclaw ended up in last place with 742 points, even with those last minute academic achievements at the end of the year. Gryffindor took third place with 887 points. Slytherin tried as they might but Hufflepuff was too much in the lead. Slytherin ended up with 993 points while Hufflepuff were the champions with 1,369 points. They celebrated into the night and for the rest of the week before the Hogwarts Express would come to take everyone home.
