For the first time in six years, the Great Hall was decorated in two such colours that hadn't made an appearance for quite some time. All the Houses were proud of this house for winning {except Slytherin, who were in dead last place}. Six years was a long time to go without the House Cup and Hufflepuff quite deserved it.
In last place was Slytherin with 659 points. They were quite disappointed that they got such few points yet again. What was going on with the once winning streak house? Ravenclaw took third plac with 1088 points -- which was quite remarkable in itself. Second place went to Gryffindor, who earned a total of 1329 points. They tried very hard to win the House Cup, but they couldn't quite beat Hufflepuff, who took home the House Cup with 1585 points.
All the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws congratulated the Hufflepuffs in the hallways for the rest of the year [which wasn't very long], but the Slytherins kept to themselves, determined not to let Hufflepuff take the Cup again.

Yet again, there was another change. The Great Hall hadn't been decorated in these colours for another six years as well. Ravenclaw's winning streak had taken over for quite some time, but now it seemed that a different house was stepping up to the plate each year. Last year, it was Hufflepuff, but now another house would be taking home the House Cup for the following year.
In last place was Hufflepuff, who earned most of their points at the end of the year. However, their 412 points wasn't enough to even land them in third place. That spot was taken by Ravenclaw, who earned a total of 632 points throughout the year. It was a lot more than Hufflepuff had, but not quite up to the next two houses. Gryffindor landed in second place, after being neck and neck with Slytherin for most of the year. They earned 708 points, while Slytherin took the House Cup again with 788 points. It had been quite some time since they had won. Would this be a start of another winning streak for them?

Well, it looked like it wasn't quite another winning streak for Slytherin. They did come close, but they didn't take home the House Cup again. Ravenclaw ended up in last place with 562 points, while Hufflepuff took third with 576 points. It was quite a close tie at the end, with the two houses very close in points, but in the end, Hufflepuff earned more. One could say that it was an echo of Hestia Burke's house points earning from many years ago, but no one could really tell if she influenced the current students this year. Slytherin earned second place with 905 points, quite a lot higher than Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff's earnings. However, Gryffindor finally took the House Cup again, after not having it for many years. They earned a total of 1,029 points throughout the year -- quite a landmark compared to last year. The Gryffindors celebrated throughout the night, making sure that their head of house and the rest of the professors couldn't hear them.

For once, the same house was in the lead all year long. It wasn't that they had a lot of points compared to the other houses, but they were always a step ahead of them, no matter what points were earned. Last place went to Hufflepuff with 450 points, but Slytherin wasn't far ahead of them with 486 points. Everyone hoped that Ravenclaw would get a big burst of points and win, but in the end, they landed in second place with 551 points. So, for the second year in a row, Gryffindor celebrated into the night after winning the House Cup again with 631 points. Overall, not as many points were earned in total from any house, but the outcome was the same, so what did it really matter? All anyone knew was that they would all have to try extra hard next year to not let this be a winning streak for Gryffindor, even though the Gryffindors did hope it would be the start of one.

Many points were collected all year and all the Houses seemed to be almost neck and neck. It was really anyone's game, but in the end, Gryffindor ended up in last place with 374 points. This was quite opposite to the past couple of years, but Gryffindor had their time. In third place was Hufflepuff with 391 points. Slytherin took second place, not that far off from Hufflepuff. They earned a total of 413 points throughout the year. And in first place was Ravenclaw with 487 points. They celebrated into the night after not winning for quite some time, ever since their long streak of winning a few years ago. Would this be the start of another winning streak for Ravenclaw?
It was a bitter year to be a Gryffindor, finishing with a meager 305 house points at Hogwarts. Last years champions, the Ravenclaw house, came in third with 327 house points. Slytherin did their best, but still fell short of the winner with their grand total of 355 points. And with an astonishing come from behind victory at Hogwarts, Hufflepuff won the house cup for the 2010-2011 year with 398 points. Their victories are generally few and far between, but this house does appreciate them when they come. It looks like the Ravenclaws' hope of starting another winning streak were dashed, and Slytherin is still not quite up to the challenge of the house cup. As for Gryffindor...better luck next year.

It was a pretty close race all year round, but in the end, Slytherin wasn't able to get enough points throughout the year to earn them a House Cup. Their losing streak was holding strong. They only managed to get 474 points, while Ravenclaw earned a third place spot yet again with 555 points. Hufflepuff came in second place with 578 points, which was still good, since they won the previous year, and Gryffindor won the House Cup again with 691 points. They won a couple of years in a row a few years ago. Would this be another winning streak for the Gryffindors?

Again, it was a close race for everyone. But in the end, Gryffindor wound up in last place with 147 points. Hufflepuff took third place with 245 points. Slytherin almost got first place, but ended up in second place with 255 points, while Ravenclaw took the House Cup with 260 points. Slytherin was rather close and hadn't won in a long time, but they vowed to get the House Cup the next year, no matter what it took.

It was a tough fight and everyone earned a lot of points. But in the end, Hufflepuff took last place this time with 376 points. Gryffindor earned third place with 793. Slytherin tried very hard all year to gain the title of champion. It seemed that every time they earned points, Ravenclaw would go and earn that much or even more. Slytherin ended up in second place with 899 points and Ravenclaw took the House Cup yet again with 1,024 points. Would this be the start of a winning streak for Ravenclaw?

It was a tough fight this time, but Hufflepuff took fourth place with 268 points and Ravenclaw took third place with 323 points. Up until the end, it seemed as though Slytherin was going to take home the House Cup, but they ended up in second place with 569 points. Gryffindor managed to sneak by and win the House Cup with 586 points. Would Slytherin ever hold the House Cup again?

It seemed that no matter how hard the houses worked to earn points, one particular house won the lead by a long shot. While Beauxbatons and Durmstrang weren't in the running for the House Cup, the professors still let them earn points throughout the year, even if it didn't count towards anything. Durmstrang earned 55 points, while Beauxbatons earned 232 points throughout the year. In terms of the Hogwarts houses, which were in the running for the House Cup, Hufflepuff ended up in last place with 290 points. Ravenclaw took third place with 618 points. Slytherin worked really hard to try and win, since they haven't for nearly a decade, but the ended up in second place with 855 points. Gryffindor took the lead and won the House Cup again with a total of 1284 points throughout the year. They basked in the warm coloured decorations that filled the hall during the End of Term feast. Hufflepuff and Slytherin would have to work extra hard next year to try and earn the House Cup, since it has been quite a long time since either of those houses had won.

The Great Hall was decorated in colours that hadn't been there for quite some time. Most of the students there couldn't even remember when those colours had last covered the Great Hall. In last place was Hufflepuff with 478 points. Ravenclaw ended up in third place with 715 points. It was a tough race for the Cup this year, with Gryffindor and Slytherin earning lots of last minute points, trying to get in the lead. They were neck and neck up until the last couple of weeks of classes, but due to some exception Potions essays by the Slytherins, Slytherin took the lead. Gryffindor ended up in second place with 953 points, while Slytherin won the House Cup with 1078 points. They gloated and strutted around the school for the rest of the year, proud of the House Cup that would remain in Snape's office for the entire next year.

With Umbridge gone, the students found it a lot easier to earn points and all worked hard all year. Hufflepuff earned more than they had in many years, but they still ended up in fourth place with 1,400 points. Ravenclaw was close to second, but they didn't manage to make the place. They ended up in third place with 2,342 points. Slytherin worked so hard to try and beat Gryffindor, but they fell flat and ended up in second place with 2,674 points. Gryffindor took the lead again with 3,282 points. With the Quidditch Cup and the House Cup, it was a very great year for them.

With the Death Eaters around, it was no surprise what colours decorated the Great Hall at the End of Term Feast. Hufflepuff ended up in last place again, though they earned more than they had in a very long time. But in the end, they still ended up in last place with 1,675 points. Ravenclaw took third place with 2,625 points. Gryffindor worked very hard all year to get points, but they ended up in second place with 3,032 points. Slytherin took the House Cup with 3,760 points. No one was too proud where points were concerned for this year, though, since the End of Term ceremony had no ceiling and many had lost friends and family only a month prior at their very school. So for once, Slytherin didn't gloat or strut around because of the House Cup. But next year, they would know that they had won.

No more Death Eaters, but the Great Hall was yet again decorated in green and silver. Hufflepuff ended up in last place yet again, with 860 points. Gryffindor took third place with a total of 1,566 points. After a tough fight, Ravenclaw ended up with 2,875 points, while Slytherin took the lead again with 3,193 points. The Slytherins took the time to gloat this year with not as many deaths having occurred, even with the serial killer about.
