TIME: September 1, 2026
It was the beginning of September and Eliza was in her office, prepping for the first day of school. Actually, she had been running around the school all morning sorting things out. A lot had to happen before the students graced the steps of Hogwarts. But all of them were oblivious to that as they gathered at Platform 9 3/4 to get onto the Hogwarts Express.
Many were saying goodbye to their family and excitedly trying to find their friends on the train. Although there were also a fair amount of students who would be first years and were about to make their first friend at Hogwarts!
The train set off on time and all of the students found a compartment to sit in. They only held about 4 people each, but some were also going around to see where their friends were and socialize during the long train ride to Hogsmeade. It would be dinner by the time they arrived, but there always was the trolly lady who came by with some snacks for those who could afford it.
((Not going to have specific compartments. Just try not to have too many people sitting alone in a compartment or more than 4-5 in one (5 would be squishy, though).))

It was Roxanne's last year at Hogwarts and the Hogwarts Express felt a little bittersweet. She was excited to see certain people after the holidays, though. That was the same as every year. But she would miss this yearly ritual. And this year, she would be quite busy, organizing the Prefect schedule with the Head Boy and all of the extra duties she had. But she was very happy to be Head Girl and felt that she could handle it.
They would be having a Prefect meeting on the train later, but for now, Roxanne settled in a car near the back of the train. She wanted to leave the front cars for the younger students who might not want to walk all the way to the back of the train to find a seat. She took out a book for now and started to read until more people came onto the train.

Every year, summer holiday got a little tougher. Dorian's muggle friends seemed to be drifting apart from him a little more this year. They still caught up and hung out and played video games (to which he was terrible now at the new games), but their lives were so different since getting into high school. Dorian's was too but he couldn't really talk about that. It really was a shame 'cause he loved just hanging with his mates but their lives were so different.
Going to the train was a bit of a different feeling. Dorian missed Hogwarts not just for the people but also how at home he felt there. He loved his family too, and he definitely felt at home there, but it was in a different sense that he couldn't quite explain.
He found a compartment near the middle of the train and hated being so early. He liked to walk in fashionably late and find his friends there already and join them. Oh, well. He didn't get too comfy in his compartment, though, in case he heard his friends in the corridor and would want to go hang with them in their compartment.

It was Yumiko's second year at Hogwarts, but her first year without her older sister Riko there with her. It would be a little strange, but also not. They had such an age difference that they didn't end up seeing each other a ton at Hogwarts anyway. Different schedules, different interests... They usually only saw each other in the common room sometimes or at meals. Sometimes they hung out during free time, though, but Riko had been so busy all the time. Yumi wondered if she would be like that when she was a seventh year.
She said goodbye to her family and promised to write soon and embarked onto the Hogwarts Express. She wasn't quite sure where to sit so she found a compartment near the front of the train. She took a window seat and looked out at the people also saying goodbye to their parents. There was a sense of excitement in the air, though, and she felt it too. She was definitely excited to get back to Hogwarts, even if her first year had been rather dangerous with the petrifications happening all over the school. But that seemed to be dealt with now and hopefully Hogwarts could get back to normal, or whatever counted as normal for Hogwarts.
His parents were horribly annoying, Noa noted blithely as he waved to them on the platform. He could see his sister Mokki pouting as he got on the train and he waved extra long at her before he slipped into the corridors of the train. The Hogwarts Express was always such a sight to behold and Noa was a little bit disappointed that he didn't sitck around outside to stare at it some more and sear the bright red of the train into his brain.
Oh well, there would be plenty of time later to stare at the train. Right now, his best bet would be to secure a compartment. He wasn't sure if he had any housemates around - or any who remembered him, but he went around looking for anything brght yellow. He supposed he could hang out with some unmarked first years too if he couldn't find anyone.
He ignored this one compartment with a tiny Slytherin girl (who glared at him so fiercely when he opened the door, that he mumbled an apology even though Noa had done nothing wrong.) HIs search brought him to the more middle compartments on the train and he slid doors open, beaming at the bright yellow he saw within.
" A fellow Badger! D'ya mind if we share a compartment?"

Wisia Kievan
Clever as the Devil and Twice as Pretty
[ tagged // open for interaction] / Wisia is such a brat omg.
Goodness, Wisia hated September 1st. Not because it signaled the start of term, but because it meant that they had to take the train back to school. That meant she ahd to go to King's Cross Station - thankfully through the Floo, even though the soot and ash was mildly annoying when she stepped out - and get on the train. That also meant she'd have to walk around, and through the crowds of people on the platform. That also meant muggles, and those muggleborns.
Ugh.
But fine. That was over now at least, Wisia thought with a huff as she stalked into a compartment, lugging, and tossing her trunk above with a muted grunt. She didn't have to talk to anyone questionable. Her sister had laughed at her disgruntled look, ruffling her hair before she had walked off to find her friends, leaving Wisia alone. Which was fine.
The girl had just tucked into one of her books, something for potions, and the door slid open. Without missing a beat, Wisia looked up over the cover of her book, and registered yellow. Her eyes narrowed, her lips pulling into a scowl, and she just stared. The boy coloured, before apologizing, and leaving, shutting the door with a click.

Darien Krum
chasing my dreams until i die You got me reaching for the light

Thank Merlin that they had gotten to King's Cross early, Darien noted mutely as he sat in chosen compartment. It was towards the front of the train, and from this vantage point, he could already see his parents being mobbed by their adoring fans. Darien shuddered, thankful that he had the insight to leave very quickly after kissing his mother on the cheek - especially after some of the other wixen had seen them. QIan looked grumpy, and Darien had squeezed his shoulders with an apologetic look before he booked it towards the train.
It let him dodge, well, everything that was happening out there. Thank Merlin. Shaking his head and finally looking away from where his family stood - though not without one last wave to his mum when she saw him - Darien slipped his wand from his sleeve. For a moment, he paused, staring at the trunk at his feet. Should he levitate it and save himself the trouble, or just heft it up because he had been slacking on weight training lately?
The boy's brows furrowed for a second before he slipped the wand back up his sleeve and he reached for the trunk, curling a strong hand over the leather handle. With a low grunt, he lifted the trunk and slid it into the rack above them - he could hear all his books rattling in it. Well, he could organize them later.
Post by LEE JI-HYUN on Nov 23, 2024 22:29:24 GMT -5
Lee Ji-Hyun got onto the train after she said goodbye to her family, hugged her parents goodbye and headed towards the train. She stepped on the train and started looking for a place to sit down, but it was full yet. Couldn't believe it was time to head back to Hogwarts already, she came upon one with only one person in the compartment, stood in the doorway and spoke. "Hey! Do you mind, if I join you?" Lee Ji-Hyun asked the boy sitting in the compartment.
She set her bag down on the ground, it was kind of heavy and waited for the boy to let her know, if she could share a compartment with him.
Someone had arrived at the comparment while he was putting his things away. Darien blinked, a hand pushing his trunk into a more steady position and he turned his upper body, looking, essentially, over his shoulder at the girl. There was a second of pause, as if Darien was waiting for some sort of recognition. It hit him a moment later though, that he was in the UK, in London, on a train to Hogsmeade and Hogwarts. If he was honest, he probably could have flown there in less time that it would take by train - Fort Williams was only 2 hours away by train, but no, his mum refused and told him that he needede to take the train. It was a must for (most) Hogwarts students.
It took another moment before Darien remembered she was waiting for an answer, and he nodded, automatically stepping forward. He stopped himself from reaching for her bag though. He wasn't sure if she needed a hand, but he should probably wait. "Yeah. Go ahead. I'm not expecting anyone anyways." And he wasn't, after all, it wasn't like any of his friends (loosely) from Durmstrang were going to show up on a Hogwarts train. Rubbing the back of his neck, feeling mildly awkward, Darien gestured to her bag, "Need a hand?"

Lee Ji-Hyun noticed that he was putting his belongings away. She glanced back occasionally to check if anyone was approaching, so she could move out of their way. Patiently waiting for him to finish, she looked toward the students boarding the train and then turned back to him.
She observed as he stepped toward her, seeming ready to grab her bag but then stopping himself. "Oh, okay, thanks," Lee Ji-Hyun said with a smile as she picked up her bag. She stepped into the compartment, placing her owl's cage on the bench across from him. Noticing him rubbing his neck, she wondered if it was bothering him.
"Oh, could you please put it up on the shelf for me?" Lee Ji-Hyun asked, having seen him gesture toward her bag.
She held out her bag towards him, hoping it wasn't too heavy for him and remembering all the stuff she had put in there. She had a few books, snacks and her make-up in there.

Angela said goodbye to her parents and older sister Blair, who just graduated from Hogwarts a few years ago. This was Angela's first year at Hogwarts and her first time on the Hogwarts Express. She climbed aboard and decided to find a compartment in the back of the train for the view could get while on her way to Hogwarts. She walked into an empty compartment and waved goodbye to her family as the Hogwarts Express departed Platform 9 3/4.
Angela stared out the window looking at the beautiful scenery and couldn't believe she was finally on the Hogwarts Express on her way to Hogwarts, a place where she only ever dreamed of attending. She starts thinking about the stories her sister told her about Hogwarts and her excitement grew more and more for her first year at Hogwarts.
As Darien watched her bring in her owl's cage, he mildly wondered if he should mail his mum for an owl. He had been engrossed over the summer with the move, and then getting his supplies and robes for Hogwarts, that it didn't even occur to him to ask for an owl. When he was at Durmstrang, he usually used the school owls, and honestly, he could use the Hogwarts' school owls too, it wouldn't bother him. Perhaps a question for when he saw them next - or when he wrote a letter home about how he was adjusting.
She motioned to her bag and Darien nodded, reaching out to take it from her. "No problem." The bag was much lighter than his own trunk of course - perhaps she shrunk the rest of her things and put it in a pocket. His father had offered to shrink his trunk for the trip, but it really hadn't bothered Darien to lug it around. The tall 7th year adjusted her bag for a second, ensuring it wouldn't coem crashing down on his (or her) skull, before he turned back. "Darien, by the way. Darien Krum." Ah. He hadn't meant to drop the last name, but oh well. It wasn't like he could hide it that long. "Just transferred from Durmstrang. Nice to meet you."

To say Taylor was nervous was an understatement. It wasn't that she was nervous for the train ride itself but the though of being sorted and having to make new friends made her nervous. What if no one liked her. What if she did something crazy that made everyone laugh at her. These were the thoughts she had as she climbed up the stairs of the Hogwarts express after saying goodbye to her mom, dad, and brother. Her sister had left her as soon as she got to the train to find her friends which was fine. It just meant that Taylor needed to find someone to sit with.
She started her journey down the train looking for someone to sit with. She saw compartments full and didn't want to intrude. It was about halfway through the train when she came across a compartment with only one other person. She opened the door peeked her head in and said "Ummm. Excuse me, do you mind if I join you?"

Oh, boy. Dorian remembered this face. How could he not? They were dormmates for 2 years until Noa disappeared. He honestly had no idea what happened to him. But with everything crazy going on, he assumed his parents moved him to another school or something.
"Not at all," Dorian said. "You remember me, right?" Noa didn't say Dorian's name, so he wasn't quite sure. They had seen each other every day for two years, so it would be a little strange if Noa didn't remember. But maybe he had been through a lot. Dorian wouldn't pry, though. If Noa didn't want to tell him, that was fine. He was just glad to see his old friend again.

Yumiko was busy looking out the window when someone came into her compartment. "No, not at all!" she said, moving her bag a little closer to her to make room. "Come on in." She smiled at the girl. She looked around her age but she couldn't place her. Maybe she was a first year?
"I'm Yumi, by the way. I don't think we've met before," she stated. She would let the other girl tell her her story. That way, if she was a second year like Yumi, at least she wouldn't get offended by being accused of being a mere first year. That wasn't a very good way to make a new friend.
