Blaise didn't have an owl but he sure wished he did. He thought about that as he ascended the stairs up to the owlery. He supposed there wasn't much point in having one with all the Hogwarts ones. Plus, there was the post office nearby his house too. But it would be rather nice to have one, he thought.
He only really needed to send letters during the summer anyway, though, and he could just use his mum's owl. During school, all his friends were at the school with him. If they really needed to send an owl to each other, they usually just used Ezra or Ella's owl anyway. And he didn't have family outside Hogwarts. His mum was always there with him and his grandparents were muggles anyway and he wasn't allowed to see them for a while now. They were in protection or something.
But sometimes he just liked to see the owls. He liked them. They were rather neat and all had different personalities. Some were kind, some bit, some were quiet, some were loud. So Blaise ascended the stairs just to hang out with the owls for a bit.
When he got up there, he walked over to his favourite owl: a brown tawny owl. He called him Stuart. He looked like a Stuart anyway. He was a little more pronounced than the others - not so erratic and not mean and snippy either.
"Hey Stu," he said, as he lightly pet him with his finger.
