ASTORIA MALFOY PRESUMED DEAD
The wizarding world mourns today as we announce the tragic passing of Astoria Malfoy (née Greengrass). It was only a few days ago that news of her disappearance became public knowledge, when the French Ministry of Magic, along with the Malfoy and Greengrass families, appealed to the public for information on her whereabouts. Mrs Malfoy vanished back in April of this year, shortly after the Nero Charity Ball. She had last been seen in France by some close family friends.It would appear the French Ministry obtained the information they were looking for from this appeal, as they officially concluded their investigation earlier today, declaring the Hogwarts alumna dead as a result. The details of her disappearance, and subsequent death, remain unclear as English Ministry officials coordinate with the French Ministry to substantiate their findings. At the time of publication, they have refused to comment on their findings. However, sources close to the case confirmed that several eye witnesses came forward, stating they saw Mrs Malfoy being attacked shortly before her disappearance.
The fourty-four year old, who made strides in the fashion industry after graduating from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, leaves behind her son, current Appleby Arrows beater Scorpius Malfoy, and her loving husband, Draco Malfoy, who was awarded the Order of Merlin for his part in the development of the cure for the wizarding plague. The family has issued a statement asking for privacy in their time of grieving. The Prophet will update this story if any further details are released, but for now, the wizarding community sends their condolences to the Malfoy and Greengrass families.
