About an hour after the Third Task
In the spirit of international amity and cooperation, a group of students from Firenze and the visiting schools organized a celebration party. They started planning it several days prior, before the winner was known, as the purpose was not to simply celebrate an individual's victory. It was one last chance to make new friends, without competitiveness or school pride marring the occasion. That did not prevent some of the Dahshur students from strutting about smugly, but they weren't too obnoxious about it.
The party was taking place in the Osservatorio, which could accommodate a large number of people. Colourful streamers were decorating the walls, and desks were laden with snacks and refreshments from various countries. Since classes were cancelled for today, the students had this place all to themselves.

Since the moment the vertigo of her fall hit her, Silvia didn't have a spare minute to think. She had just dropped on the cushioned ground - having fully expected a bone-breaking landing yet still clutching the Dodecawizard Cup in her hand tightly - when Dahshur students swarmed her. Since then, it had been one endless string of accepting congratulations, shaking hands, hugging friends and strangers alike... She felt dizzy with the suddenness of it all, still tense after running through the maze, still a little wounded that Calvin had attacked her. There was no time to dwell on any of that; it had to be pushed to the back of her mind as she slowly moved through the crowd and tried to keep a confident smile on her face. At one point the adults were shaking her hand and patting her on the back, too. She was announced to be the winner of the tournament, and then the crowd of students swept her away again.
Somehow they all ended up at the observatory tower, although she didn't remember the walk there. The party was about to start, someone informed her excitedly. What party? How did they arrange it so fast? She climbed the stairs up, remembering the night of the first task. It wasn't quite as crowded then; today, the place was packed with people. Only when she arrived at the large circular room and most of her entourage went off to socialize did she realize the cup was still in her hand. There had been no time to drop it off at the dormitory, and she probably wouldn't have wanted to in any case. Retrieving it had been such a central focus of the past few hours, the race for it had been so intense - especially the last part, where she decided to shadow Calvin and race him for the cup - that parting with it seemed unthinkable. Still, carrying it with herself like a prop that reminded everyone of her victory could be perceived as her being shallow. Silvia placed it on the first flat surface she found - the top of a bookshelf - and went to mingle.

After a short stay in the hospital wing where he received some well deserved rest and recovery, Calvin found himself rush out of his sleeping quarters half changed as he wiped off the last bit of hair gel he had in his hands in a near by tap. He was running fashionably late as word got to him about a little after party. The ever excited Calvin sported a young Johnny Depp look which happened to be quite popular in the Muggle fashion world in Australia so he hoped he wouldn't look too out of place.
Entering the party area, the first thing he saw was the cup at a short distance away from him. Of course there was a slight sense of jealousy in him but nothing that would result in any foul play especially post game. Food, drinks, music and a variety of students surrounded him as they continued to cheer for him despite not finishing first.
Still, Calvin considered it quite an achievement to place second to Silvia. She was fantastic in all the rounds and was also friendly outside the tournament too. " Silvia" He called out with a smile on his face as he looked over and began waving which then turned into his arms wide open for a hug. " Congratulations! You totally deserved to win!" He greeted wholeheartedly. " You need to savour this moment because today you are a victor my friend!"

The tournament had not ended the way that Desiree had envisioned, but she knew she still had to make an appearance at the celebration afterwards. She had to maintain the image of a gracious loser after all. At the very least, she would arrive in style, dressed to the nines to dazzle the rest of the competition and maintain her status as an elite member of society. It took her a bit of time to get properly clean after the events of the task, and find an appropriate outfit to wear - couldn’t be too flashy, it wasn’t a grand affair, but still sophisticated and eye-catching. By the time she arrived, she found the party already in full swing.
Gliding her way through the crowd in a short black tulle dress with a satin corset, she began making the rounds, greeting students she knew from all schools, and accepting congratulations on her performance in the tournament with the utmost grace. She had finished in the top three, which was not a bad accomplishment when competing against 11 other competitors, although still not quite enough for Desiree. She knew her school, and her family, would be disappointed, but tonight was not the night to dwell on such stuff.
As she was talking to some friends from Beauxbatons, recounting her experiences in the maze, she noticed a familiar blonde head to her left. She knew eventually she would have to congratulate Silvia on her win, less she came across as a sore loser. With an internal groan, she excused herself from the group, plastered on a smile, and made her way over to the new Dodeca Winner. “Silvia, congratulations my friend!” She exclaimed with feigned enthusiasm, greeting her with a cheek-kiss on each cheek, as was customary in her culture. It was only as she pulled away that she noticed Calvin standing next to her. “Oh, Calvin, my apologies. I hope I did not interrupt.”

It was rather fortunate that Calvin ended up attending the after party or else he would of never had the chance to see Desiree in all her glory in that magnificent and fashion forward outfit she was wearing. " Desiree." He exclaimed dropping all his focus from Silvia and directed it all onto Desiree. A smiled gleamed on his face seeing her. " Too Es See Bell." He later added giving his French another go knowing dang well he may of said something highly inappropriate thought without intention.
" Ahh look at us all here. " He turned his direction to the people looking at them like they were some sort of famous witch or wizard. " They love us and all we did was play in a few games. " He said letting out a small laugh as he turned over to both Silvia and Desiree. " Anyone want a drink? I'm about to go get one. " Of course, Calvin was still too young to drink but he did enjoy the aspect of having a non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice.

There had been no time for Silvia to decide what to do about Calvin. He had seemed so friendly since their chat in the plaza, but then he attacked her during the task. She didn't buy his claim of not having recognized her - who let spells loose without identifying the target first? He'd smiled at her for a few moments before casting, too. His excuse only made sense if he had severely impaired vision.
And now it was a little too late to make a decision. As he walked to her with a congratulatory smile she no longer trusted, Silvia forced a grin onto her own face and accepted the hug somewhat awkwardly. "Thanks. You did great, too - your schoolmates must be proud of you!"
Desiree's approach enabled her to break off the embrace quickly, and a more genuine smile appeared on Silvia's lips. "Thank you! I was told you were incredible - fighting off an Acromantula and finding your way around quickly." A few of her schoolmates mentioned worrying as they watched Desiree's progress. Although she moved through the maze slower than Silvia, she erred less in choosing her path.
The way Calvin pointedly redirected all his attention to Desiree wasn't exactly polite, but it came as a relief to Silvia. And she couldn't blame him, either - it seemed that Desiree had found the time to change her attire to something suitably stylish. Silvia still sported the same robe she'd worn during the task, singed by the Fire Crab and dampened by the puddle. Having received French lessons from her mother, she deciphered Calvin's compliment and had to agree with him. "You really do look beautiful," she seconded.
While the Augustine champion enjoyed the attention their group was getting and seemed intent on excluding Silvia from it, she began feeling like a third wheel. Her eyes started to wander the circular room as she sought a familiar face. She noticed her co-champion, Azra, and decided to go ask the girl how she fared in the maze. With that idea in mind, the blonde shook her head at Calvin's offer. "Oh, no, thank you. I see a friend I should go chat with... You two have fun, though." Flashing one last smile to Desiree, she disengaged from the couple and went to join a group of Dahshur students.

Tobias had taken some time to get himself cleaned up and dressed in his best clothes after the Task had finished. He had then headed to where the party was taking place. He noticed that Silvia was still in her singed, damp robes. Goodness, they could have given the woman of the hour some time to wear something more suitable for a party. Though Silvia's beauty still outshone what she was wearing anyway.
Heading over towards her with a smile, he waited until at least some of the Dahshur students had dissipated to take their own enjoyment of the party. "Congratulations once again, Silvia. You deserve it, you did so well in every task." SILVIA ODETTE STIRLING

Desiree smiled at Silvia’s praise, feeling genuine warmth for the blonde. In spite of her being the cause of Desiree’s loss, she had been kind throughout the whole competition, and was definitely a gracious winner. “Merci beaucoup, I appreciate the kind words, but I obviously could not compete with you,” she admitted with a slight laugh. “You were a fierce competitor through the whole tournament. A much deserved win.” As much as Desiree hated to admit it, she did mean that. Silvia had dominated every single task, all while remaining humble, even helping her out in the first task. While Desiree wanted to hate this girl who had stolen her victory, she couldn’t quite get there. Silvia was simply too nice.
She swooshed her dress skirt a bit at the compliments, acting coy, all the while her smile turned slightly smug. She knew she looked good, but she liked hearing it from others. Particularly from Calvin, not that she would admit that. “Merci,” she responded to both, before turning to address Calvin directly. “And I believe what you wanted to say was ‘Tu es très belle,’” she corrected with a slight laugh, still finding Calvin’s attempt at French adorable in its clumsiness.
Desiree looked around as Calvin mentioned everybody looking at them, finding that he was not wrong. The trio of champions was definitely attracting some attention. She turned her gaze back to Silvia, surprised at the blonde’s attire. “Did you not have time to clean up?” She asked, confused as to why the star of the event was the only one still in her attire from the maze. “Or did you not have anything else to wear?” Perhaps her wardrobe was not so extensive, or she didn’t know what to wear for such a party. “You may borrow something of mine if you would like, we can make you look gorgeous. If they are going to stare, give them something worth staring at.” She punctuated her sentence with a flip of her hair, sending a flirtatious wink at a group of boys looking their way to make her point. Some people may have thought she was vain, and maybe she was, but Desiree knew the importance of making a good impression.
She was a little disappointed when Silvia disengaged from their conversation to go speak to others, but she also understood that, as the winner, many people would try to engage her with conversation. “Of course, have a good night. Perhaps we will run into each other later in the night.” She waved Silvia off, turning to Calvin once it was just the two of them, suddenly feeling the familiar butterflies in her stomach. With Silvia there she had a buffer, but now it was just the two of them. “I would take a drink, if you are offering,” she acquiesced, hoping perhaps some student had snuck in some alcohol to help relax some of her sudden nerves.

Reino didn't like big groups of people. But he had to show up to see Silvia in her moment of victory. He was neatly dressed but not overly so in order to still be able to blend in the crowd. That desire of him never changed. He didn't regret not putting his name in. This was a much better look on Sil than him. Besides, he doubted he'd stand a chance. Defeat while several schools were watching was something he probably wouldn't be able to handle. He was proud of his former Gryffindor teammate but also a little sad everything was over. It meant that they'd be separated for real now. Reino wouldn't be transferring back to Hogwarts, he wouldn't go against the wishes of his family.
Silvia was surrounded by her friends and he looked on from the crowd. What would he even say to her besides everything everyone else had said already. He smiled fondly at her having a good time. It probably went unnoticed. Perhaps he'd talk to her later when everything quieted down now didn't feel like the right time.

Calvin watched the interaction between Silvia and Desiree and wondered if there was some form of untold tension between the two. He felt slightly awkward wondering if the comments made between each other were genuine or if it was some girl way of throwing shade at each other. None the less, Calvin wanted to out himself of the situation . " Sure thing Silvia." He replied with a smile on his face and waved before facing Desiree. " I'll get us our drinks then. " He began to walk in a different direction when he noticed another person enter. Tobias.
Smiling, Calvin distracted himself from the drink as he made his way over to Silvia and the other person.. " Hey Tobias, how are you?. " He greeted as he walked over to see him speaking with Silvia. " Hey Silvia, I hope you don't mind Desiree's comments about your attire. " He replied with a soft smile on his face. " If anything, it makes you look badass." Said the Australian boy trying to diffuse the situation.

Desiree's offer was generous and tempting, as Silvia suspected the French girl's wardrobe to contain a variety of stylish and possibly even designer-made garments. It would be intriguing to see what she picked for the stay at Firenze. However, if they went to the dormitories now, Silvia might be tempted to remain there. She was presently running on fumes, only able to maintain her energy because there was no pause in activity that would allow the weariness in. Getting away from the hubbub of the party could allow it to flood her, and then she would miss the last chance to establish new friendships - which was the main point of the tournament, supposedly.
"Thank you for the offer, but I'm not sure I'll have the energy to go to the dormitories and back. I would have had better clothes, but my schoolmates didn't give me a chance to change..." She liked looking good, but her current robes didn't make her feel self-conscious. The Veela genetics would make up for the present lack of style. "I would love to see what clothes you've brought to Firenze, though - perhaps tomorrow?" This could be a way to bond with Desiree, as Silvia had already noted the other girl's interest in fashion.
For some reason, Azra didn't feel like chatting with Silvia for long. The other Dahshur champion soon departed from the group to join another, followed by a few of her closest friends. Their place was promptly taken by Tobias; Silvia beamed in response to his praise.
"Thanks, though if I hadn't won, I would have wanted you to get the cup," she confessed, before adding a quick explanation in case the statement sounded odd. "I still have fond memories of Selveira, it was my favourite school to attend." Hogwarts had been the favourite briefly, before the rumours spread. Although both of Xanadu champions had been at Hogwarts with her just last term, she couldn't bring herself to root for them because of those tainted memories. Selveira, however, had provided only positive experiences during her early years of schooling. While Manuel was also its champion, she remembered Tobias much better - hence her preference.
From the corner of her eye, she spotted another familiar face. Reino was at the party, but staying away from chatty groups. She wondered how he would react if she pretended to lasso him in, but decided not to place such a spotlight on the introverted boy. Instead, she just smiled and inclined her head a little, subtly inviting him to join the conversation.
She hadn't expected Calvin to approach again - was Desiree still waiting for that drink? - but welcomed his company nonetheless. "I didn't mind the comment, no," she assured him, suddenly wondering if she should have. Had any offence been meant by it, something Calvin spotted while she didn't? Her ability to read between the lines might have been affected by ceaseless activity that started with preparing for the task this afternoon, and hadn't slowed down since. "I appreciate the compliment, though - badass is my preferred look," Silvia joked, willing to believe that she truly looked tough rather than shabby. In truth, her robe had been new and voguish before the Fire Crab burned a few small holes into it.

Desiree nodded in understanding. It was a bit of a trek back to the dormitories, and they had all had a very active day so far. She could respect Silvia’s decision to prioritize her time at the party, albeit it was one she would never make for herself. One’s appearance was of utmost importance in her opinion, but in this situation, she was sure that winning the Dodecawizard Tournament would allow some grace for her appearance. Regardless, Desiree wanted to be helpful, and help the girl present herself as best as possible. “Very well. Let me at least help you look a bit less… dirty.” The words came out harsh, but Desiree did have the best intentions.
Taking out her wand, she cast a quick, “Tergeo,” on Silvia’s robes, cleaning up the dirt and grime. She then cast a Darning charm to repair the few small holes. While the magical threads wove together to fix Silvia’s robes, Desiree focused her attention on Silvia’s hair and face. She ran her fingers through the blonde’s hair to untangle a few knots, before pulling parts up behind her head, grabbing a pin from her own hair to secure it in place. The result was a simple yet elegant half up half down do, just enough to make it look like she made an effort without caring too much about her appearance. She then reached into her clutch and pulled out a small container of tinted lip balm, patting a bit on the blonde’s lips, giving them a soft pink tint. “Do like this,” Desiree instructed as she smacked her lips together, willing Silvia to do the same to spread the product more evenly. She concluded it all with a ligh pinch of her cheeks, giving them a nice rosy blush. Stepping back to observe her work, Desiree smiled. “Perfection,” she stated, proud of her work. “Now you are ready to mingle. I will find you another day so you can raid my closet.” And with that she waved Silvia off, happy to see the blonde looking more suitable for her current standing.
—-------------------------------
Desiree stood alone in the middle of multiple groups of people chatting, waiting for Calvin to return with their drinks. Perhaps she was simply nervous, or impatient, but it felt like she had been waiting a while. Looking around at the other party guests leisurely, she suddenly stopped and did a double take as she saw someone familiar. Calvin, but he was not returning with their drinks. He was currently back to speaking with Silvia.
Desiree felt her stomach drop. Was everything between them just a flirtation after all? Was he over her already and moved on to Silvia? Did he simply forget about her in favour of the winner of the tournament? Her sudden heartbreak was quickly replaced with anger, and embarrassment at the realization that she was currently standing around waiting for a boy. That was not becoming of a Fontaine. With a huff and a toss of her hair, she decided to chat up a nearby group of boys, the very ones she had winked at earlier. They seemed receptive to her flirtations, and they were at a party after all. Might as well have a bit of fun.

In every friendly possible manner, Calvin responded to Silvia with no other intention behind it. " Yeah you do look good. " He finished his sentence off with a smile on his face as he nodded. " I have three drinks, if you don't want one, I might just place one back. " He did struggle to jumble the three drinks and he looked toward the other person there. " Hey I'm leaving this here if you want it. " He placed the cup of butterball fizz on the table next to Tobias before looking back at Silvia. "Congratulations again. " He smiled once more before turning around and walked his way back to Desiree.
" Hey, I got us buterball fizz. " He said as he handed over a cup toward Desiree. " I just went to see Tobias and Silvia. " He said calmly before noticing Desiree talking to a few other guys. Suddenly, a sudden pain twirled in his stomach. Not the painful bending over type, but more, like someone was scratching his stomach with barb wire.
Why did seeing Desiree speak to the other more attractive men in the school make him feel this way? They weren't officially dating yet the sight of seeing Desiree chatting with other guys made him upset. " Oh, I can see you're busy. " He said pouting at the same time feeling his heart ache just that little bit more. " Do you just wanna chat later? " He asked with a bitter tone hoping that Desiree would ask him to stay.

Desiree laughed flirtily as she spoke to the other boys, but her heart was not in it. It felt like an act. It always had a bit even before she had arrived at Firenze, before Calvin, and usually that was fine, just a bit of fun, but tonight it felt… wrong. Why was that? The two of them weren’t anything more. They were just friends, right? But then she heard Calvin’s voice next to her and she turned up the act. She didn’t want him to see her upset. She turned to face him with an innocent smile, flipping her hair as she accepted the drink from him. “Merci. Calvin, have you met my new friends here?”
As soon as she saw his face, her stomach dropped, particularly as he quickly explained that he had just been talking to Silvia and Tobias, obviously not trying to hide it. Oh. Had she been wrong? Had she misinterpreted what she had seen? His pout melted her heart, and the other boys quickly fell out of her mind. “Non, non. I am never too busy for you.” She turned to the guys and bid them a quick adieu, before grabbing Calvin’s hand and pulling him away. “Let’s go find somewhere more private to speak, hm?”
