Early November, before the First Task
Dear Desiree,
Father tells me that you will be participating in the Dodecawizard Tournament. I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations!
It came to me as a bit of a surprise that you decided to compete alongside Henri. However, I can only imagine how glad he is to have his big sister near him while he endeavours to earn glory for the Fontaine family. Your parents must be so proud - and I am sure they support both of you equally.
Do keep me updated. I am genuinely curious to learn all about your progress in the Tournament, as I have no doubt your skillset is well suited for this type of contest.
Yours sincerely, Maeve
P.S. Please, convey my warmest regards to Henri and tell him I am certain he will be the victor!

[Early November, Before the First Task]
Chère Maeve,
Merci for the well wishes, I will be sure to forward them to Henri in due time. He will appreciate somebody cheering him on.
He will surely do well, he is a Fontaine after all. There could be no better second choice to represent Beauxbatons. Albeit, it was a surprise to our family that he chose to join me at Firenze this year. He has never been much for competition.
It is a shame that Hogwarts isn’t attending and you will be unable to watch me us compete in person. I believe there are a few of your former classmates competing as well this year. I heard one of the Dahshur champions is a recent Hogwarts transfer. Perhaps you know her? Silvia Starling?
Regardless, it will be nice to see Hogwarts represented in some capacity. I will be sure to send you updates as the tournament progresses. The first task is only a few days away, so I must return to my preparations.

November, before the First Task
Dear Desiree,
If Hogwarts was attending, I would likely be competing against you. It truly is a pity that we are not part of the tournament this year, although I am glad to hear that some of my former schoolmates found a way in. Three of them, in fact. I suppose it is a blessing that none of them transferred to Beauxbatons, or they might have ended up representing your school as well.
As for Silvia Stirling, she was indeed in the same year as me, though I could not claim we have so much as exchanged a few words with one another. I would not trust her if I were you. She fled Hogwarts after some of her deceptions were revealed.
I wish you best of luck in the first task. Hopefully, nobody gets seriously injured - I have heard it is quite a real possibility, as is dying. It would break my heart to learn that something terrible happened to you...

[Mid December]
Chère Maeve,
It is truly unfortunate Hogwarts was not selected this year and we shall not be competing against one another. I would have been particularly interested in seeing how our skills would stack up against one another. I am sure you would have been a formidable foe. Albeit, considering the number of former Hogwarts students currently competing, as you mentioned, there is no guarantee you would have been selected within the, apparently quite talented, student body.
Alas, I suppose we shall never know what could have been. I appreciate your warnings in regards to Silvia. She has proven to be a skilled competitor, although I’m not sure I would call her deceitful. She has been quite an ally of mine so far. I will remain wary just in case, but perhaps your judgments were misplaced.
I appreciate your well wishes and concern for my safety. The first task was quite a success as I finished within the top three students. Henri finished fourth, which is a formidable effort for him, and, as a school combined, we are in the lead. Of course this is only the first task and, as we both know, the final task is when it truly matters most.
But let us change the subject to something you may participate in more actively. I’d hate to bore you with so much talk of the tournament. How have your classes been going so far this year? Has anything exciting happened at Hogwarts lately? I hope the school year hasn’t been too boring for you so far.
Before I sign off, I’d also like to wish you a happy holiday season in advance. I will be unable to attend any of the typical holiday gatherings this year as I will be remaining at Firenze to attend the Yule Ball, and so will be unable to see you in person if you did choose to be present this year. I hope my company will not be terribly missed.
Bisoux, Desiree
