After nearly four months, the joint investigation into Giovanna Nero and the events at the muggleborn festival in Augst are ongoing. However, some things have been revealed. The object was not procured that caused the curses. However, from witness testimony by those closest to the incident, it has been concluded that a muggle inquired about the object and Giovanna herself opened it. She also took it with her. Such a device is not common or known in the world.
There is currently only speculation on what it could be. Some are saying that it seemed like Pandora's Box - unleashing all of the evils into the world. However, the Ministry has not confirmed this, as that is an object of only myth and legend.
The Ministry and WGOS continue to search for Nero. However, as she has evaded capture before and is known to travel internationally, WGOS has stated that finding her will take great effort and likely cooperation with other Ministries worldwide.
The Italian and Canadian Ministries are already cooperating. Nero has family in Italy and grew up there before moving to Britain in the early 1990s. Many years ago, after being kidnapped, she was found in Canada by some muggles. The Ministry is investigating any connections to both of those countries as well as any others in the world.
The Ministry and WGOS have urged that if you have information, please come forward. And they continue to remind everyone to keep their distance. If you spot Nero, report it immediately, but do not approach under any circumstance. She is very dangerous, as anyone at the Muggleborn Festival could attest.
