Sign-ups are open now for WGOS positions. There are a lot of great positions available, like many head of departments. There are also extra positions that don't exist in the Ministry of Magic.

If you wish to sign up to work for this new government, please post in the career sign-ups thread linked below. If you want to run for office, please fill out the form in this thread. Also you may have a government position and be Parliawix too, as long as it's a regular position and not Head of Department.

New positions:

Parliawix - Like Member of Parliament in Canada. These are elected officials based on 22 areas in Scotland. The elected officials decide on the laws in parliament. They'll often be speaking with people in other departments and the community they live in to see what is needed.

Prime Wizard - Like Minister for Magic. They need to be a Parliawix for a term (or at least a year) first. So for now, they can be anyone who was a town councillor before.

Deputy Prime Wizard - Like Senior Undersecretary or Vice President. Same requirements as Prime Wizard.

Voting areas:

They are detailed in the sign-ups thread. But in terms of TB areas, here's a run down of some notable places:

-- Hogsmeade/Hogwarts are in the Highlands
-- Aberdeen is where Order HQ is
-- Yesnaby is where WOGS is. It's a castle in the Yesnaby cliffs that Liberamach have been building for the last year or so.
-- Yester Castle is in Midlothian

New departments and positions:

-- Department of Education and Welfare
Liason to Hogwarts, Liason to Rutherford, Educational Standards Body, National Examinations Office (NEWT & OWL examiners), Wizarding Rights Council, Healing Standards and Practices Office

-- Magical Law Enforcement Squad & Accidental Magic Reversal Squad both now have a Squad Leader.

-- WIA: Wizarding Intelligence Agency.
It's like the CIA. Mostly they'll be spying on Britain for now to make sure they're not trying to undermine Scotland and make them fail. But they will eventually have other missions all over the world. There may even be something developing that will require WIA agents later.

-- Protection of Magical Species Department
Everything is mostly about the protection. Also instead of Werewolf Capture Unit, there is a Critical Capture Unit, which is for any dangerous creatures/beings.

-- Record and Registries Department
Everything is there in that department now.

-- Department of Secrecy
Everything about keeping magic secret from muggles including a new office: Muggle Education Office. This office creates resources for witches and wizards on how to interact with Muggles, how to dress, how things like money or the tube work - things they would need to get by in day to day life.

-- Department of Economy and Infrastructure
This is a new government so they need people to help develop the country. Often they will be talking to Parliawix by proposing new laws so that they can get things done.

-- Department of Innovation
This is like the Department of Mysteries except there's more than just Unspeakables. So there is both a head of department and Head Unspeakable. Also for independent inventors, there is Inventor Administrative Services.

-- Department of Justice
In the Ministry, the Wizengamot is judge, jury, and executioner. WOGS does it differently. There are positions for Judges, Lawyers (representing WOGS), Lawyers (representing the people - like a public defender), Scribes. The Patents Office is also here.


Election Sign-Ups

If you wish to sign up for a position in one of the departments, just post in the career sign-ups board. But if you wish to run for office as a Parliawix, Prime Witch/Wizard, or Deputy Witch/Wizard, please post below with the following form.

Parliawix need to be 18+, Prime Witch/Wizard (and Deputy) need to be 30+. While generally they will need to serve a term first, like as town councillor, if they have served as an elected official elsewhere (ex. Minister for Magic in a different country), that would be alright as well.
