WEASLEY APPOINTED MINISTER FOR MAGIC
It was a close race, but not between the contenders one would expect. After such seemingly strong support by many in the wizarding community, now former Minister Malfoy ended up with only 7% of the popular vote, only beating out Whitlock who had 3%. Doing quite a bit better was unexpected candidate Ailbe O'Clery Jr. with 14% of the popular vote. It was a close call between Preston and Weasley, forcing all of the votes to be tallied before a winner was announced. However, Preston ended up with 34% of the votes and Weasley ended up with 41%, making him the winner of the election and our newest Minister for Magic.
Not many in our country haven't heard of the Weasleys and Percy has been a Ministry man ever since he graduated Hogwarts, always advocating for justice and doing the right thing. He has always strongly supported the government, even at personal cost. We are all interested to see what he will do during his time as Minister, especially during this war. Hopefully he will have a solution that will bring this war to a close.
