The election is here! Please vote below with each of your characters who are 17 or older. This takes place in January 2021, so if you have a student who turned 17 during that month, then they can vote. Also, anyone who is currently a fugitive cannot vote.

LUCIUS MALFOY

BLOOD PURITY: important - purebloods have been villainized because of a select few who have done terrible things. but blood purity is important to keep the magic strong within our community. it's about time our bad rep changes.
HOGWARTS INVOLVEMENT: increased involvement - they need the ministry. the children need the ministry. if we don't mandate what is taught there and who teaches there, any number of things could be going into our children's heads.
THE CIVIL WAR: unrelenting - malfoy does not want to concede a single inch to the rebels in the north.
BEINGS' RIGHTS: moderately for - as long as they're peaceful, they should retain their rights like wizards. but they shouldn't get any special treatment.
THE BIG THREAT: no action - it's gone, we shouldn't be concerned with it anymore.


PERCY WEASLEY

BLOOD PURITY: moderately against - it really isn't important anymore. people should be judged based on their merit, not what blood status they have.
HOGWARTS INVOLVEMENT: only if necessary - leave it to the expert professors unless there's an issue
CIVIL WAR: diplomatic - we need to come to some common ground because fighting and killing each other over this is not helping. both sides are losing loved ones and our strategy needs to drastically change.
BEINGS' RIGHTS: moderately for - we need to protect those in danger too and unfortunately there are dangerous creatures and beings out there
THE BIG THREAT: concerned - it just disappeared without notice. we should be prepared, at least, in case it comes back.


CLIVE PRESTON

BLOOD PURITY: very against - this doesn't matter. people are killing each other over other things right now. no one should be worrying about blood purity anymore.
HOGWARTS INVOLVEMENT: barely any - the experts know what's best for our children. but if they need something from the ministry, we should be able to aid them.
CIVIL WAR: against - this needs to end right now. if they want to live in one city and close themselves off from the rest of us, then so be it. but creating their own government and economy from one city wouldn't be easy. we should just let them try, fail, and then come crawling back to us once more.
BEINGS' RIGHTS: very for - everyone deserves equal rights, no matter what type of being they are. if they do something illegal, they should be punished just the same. but we should not assume they are going to do evil things before they do them and that's where the problems happen.
THE BIG THREAT - mildly concerned - it shouldn't be our top priority, but just in case it comes back, we should have a plan in place so we can act swiftly to protect everyone


PENELOPE WHITLOCK

BLOOD PURITY: important - if we mix with muggles too much, our magic will grow weaker. we don't want to become a nightmare planet where magic doesn't even exist anymore. we shouldn't persecute people who are non-magical, but we definitely shouldn't place them too high up in our society either. witches and wizards are the strong ones.
HOGWARTS INVOLVEMENT: moderate involvement - the ministry should mandate who is allowed to teach at the school, or at least have a veto vote to bar inappropriate people from teaching our children
CIVIL WAR: justified - we can't let people just decide to break away from our country and create their own country. this is 2021, it's not the year 202. our countries are set and there's no reason to separate. and if we concede to this, who's to say someone else isn't happy with the currently elected officials and decide to break off in another city too? when will this end? will we even have a country left? if you compromise this once, it only leaves room for other people to do the same in the future and before you know it, our country will be in ruins.
BEINGS' RIGHTS: mildly for - not every being is the same. not every being has the same intelligence or good intentions. some are inherently evil and some have tendencies due to their nature that are irresistable and they can't help harming others. if we give them the same rights, that's just going to endanger the rest of us.
THE BIG THREAT - not concerned - it's gone, so why should we waste our resources caring about it? we're at war. if it comes back, we will do what is necessary. but we have far more pressing issues facing us right now and there's no sign of it coming back at this point. besides, it was worldwide. we would know if it was happening again from other countries too.

AILBE O'CLERY JR

BLOOD PURISM: mildly against - everyone is entitled to their views, but it shouldn't be pushed onto others. nor should it be used to try and justify negative actions on others.
HOGWARTS INVOLVEMENT: moderately for - we need to make sure that hogwarts is a great place for all our children. however, we need to make sure there are safeguards to ensure there's no corruption on the ministry's side and to make sure that hogwarts still has its freedom to make its own curriculum and system.
CIVIL WAR: diplomatic - we need to reach a compromise with them. this war needs to end peacefully. all the fighting has not made any progress for anyone, only casualties. certain concessions could be made to give more freedom, but they also need to accept the ministry as well. this stubborn all or nothing from both sides isn't going to resolve anything.
BEINGS' RIGHTS: very for - all beings and creatures deserve the respect that equal rights will give them. however, we do need to have protocols for containment for the creatures that are unable to control their actions or pose a threat.
THE BIG THREAT: mildly concerned - the idea that it could return means that we need to keep an eye on it. we need some precautions and safety just in case something happens and that does involve some focus on preparations.
