First of all, do not think that everything is just magically better. A lot and I mean a lot of you have to change your ways and your thinking in how you treat staff members and older members too. I'm not talking about being polite in chats (everyone already is) but in your roleplay actions. If we get purposefully ignored or the subject of negativity for no reason in roleplays (especially mass threads), then something far more drastic will occur. So do not think that everything's okay and you can just go back to how you behaved before. You cannot.

Only one person apologized, so there better be especially an instant change from everyone's thinking and behaviour when it comes to how you treat us. And before you start thinking that it's not you, I am talking about roughly half the site.

That being said, we are having a bit of a re-start. Not in plot. That is continuing (and developing). Dodeca is continuing. But everyone has been unsorted and everyone can only keep 5 characters (or more, details below). So you can instantly re-sort those 5. And then anything after that will be according to the character creation rules.

The character creation rules have also changed so check out the Rules thread to see the details. They have changed to reflect that we are generally a long term site - a place for development, not just instant plots - and a place to get involved in the main plot. We aren't a sandbox site. And we aren't a site where the main plot only revolves around a few canons. It's for anyone to get involved, canon or original.

The reason the rules have changed are so you can slow down your character creations and focus on your characters more before making more. I know that TB is always a magnet for making many characters, but there's no reason to get to 10 in a month. People get a lot from being here for years and slowly accumulating them. Hopefully this way, everyone will be able to focus on developing each character more before making more, rather than only being able to do 1 post per character every month at most, as in some cases (but not everyone) when you accumulate too many in a short period of time.

RE-SORTING NOW

To re-sort now, you can post in this thread. Everyone can re-sort 5 characters at once. Later, it will be based on the character creation rules as stated in the rules. However, if you had over 10 characters, then you can re-sort an extra one instantly for every 10 characters you had. If you had over 30 characters, then you can re-sort an extra one instantly for every 5 characters you had (it does combines with the 10+ characters rule until 30 and then replaces it). So you guys don't have to worry about the math, here it is below.

Please note that anyone with 1-5 characters were not unsorted. So you don't have to do anything. Unless you accidentally were, then just post here. <3

If you had 6-9 characters - You can re-sort 5
If you had 10-14 characters - You can re-sort 6
If you had 15-24 characters - You can re-sort 7
If you had 25-29 characters - You can re-sort 8
If you had 30-32 characters - You can re-sort 13
If you had 33-37 characters - You can re-sort 14
If you had 38-42 characters - You can re-sort 15

Please note that this is how many characters you had active and sorted before this mass unsorting. Not how many you've ever had. It does not include accounts you had unsorted or NPC'd before hand.

Also please note that when you re-sort, you cannot go over your adult creation limit. So if you were over limit before, I'm sorry, but you cannot be over limit again. If you need to buy more spots, feel free to purchase that at Gringotts.

CLAIMS

We are giving one week for you guys to re-sort your characters in this thread. Afterwards, it'll be locked and you'll need to do that the normal way in the Re-Sorting thread. We are not removing any claims until that time either. DO NOT try to claim someone else's play-by or position (Quidditch, job, etc.) during this time. It is petty and sneaky, which is why we are not allowing it. Therefore, our claims will have a lot of unsorted accounts on it for a week. After that week, anyone still unsorted will be removed from the claims.

NPCS & UNSORTED ACCOUNTS

Many of you have far more characters than you are able to re-sort at this time and re-sorting the rest will take quite a bit of time.

You may make some NPCs which will save the account from being unsorted and you can roleplay in the NPC category (not visible to regular members, only NPC accounts can see it). However, you will still be removed from the claims.

Everyone can have up to 5 NPC accounts or 1 per year you've been on the site (as a writer), whichever number is higher. Also, only accounts that were registered 1 year ago or more can be NPCs. It is based on account, so even if you had the same character years ago, deleted them, and re-created them recently, that would not count.

Later, in probably a couple of months, we'll have an announcement letting you guys know that we'll be deleted any unsorted accounts that haven't been re-sorted or made into NPCs. So you will have some notice. And by then, some time will have passed for you to be able to re-sort any characters you wanted to.

I know that this is a lot. If you feel that these changes are not to your liking or that you are unable or unwilling to change your behaviour, no hard feelings if you want to move on. That is everyone's choice. I never ask anyone to stay if they clearly don't want to and not every site is right for everyone.
