Places like Hogwarts have priorities of who is allowed there before anyone else. If you aren't one of the groups in the priorities, you can ask to be waitlisted.
Please note that it is MANDATORY to sign up for a location. If you don't, you will be assigned to Holt Castle.
Characters not residing in the UK will not have to sign up. And we won't be designating different ones per country. Only the UK.
NOTE: If you are a Hogwarts faculty member, do NOT sign up. They won't take up an extra spot.
NOTE: If you sign up for a place that's not ready yet, they will stay at Hogwarts until then. If they are a recent grad, they can stay inthe dorms temporarily. If not, they can set up a tent on the lawns (there will be many until the adult living quarters are ready on September 1st anyway).
NOTE: Anyone who doesn't sign up by the time it's August will automatically be thrown at Holt's Castle (catapult style) and you will be unable to change.
NOTE ON LOGISTICS:
Hogwarts - MAXWELL OLIVER MCCREE has been asked to expand the Hogwarts vegetable patch by quite a lot to grow more food so they can be more self-sustaining. If you have a student or faculty member who wants to help with this, you can do that in character. I won't make sign-ups for that. However, all adults who are staying there and aren't faculty will be asked to help out and make themselves useful while there. Also, Hogwarts will be building extra living quarters near the faculty living quarters for these adults.
Holt's Castle - has hired many chefs and farmers to grow and cook all the food for everyone there. All residents will pay 1 Galleon/day for this. No rent or anything like that will be paid. In the middle of the castle is some open grass. People can set up tents (bigger on the inside, smaller on the outside) for their shops there.
Diagon/Knockturn/Midlothian Passage - All shops are CLOSED. Not even open for illegal things. So don't post in those boards (unless you want to risk your character's life). Knockturn Alley is completely abandoned. The main street with a few shops and the Leaky Cauldron are protected but again, abandoned. Midlothian also only apartments overtop. All shops are closed.
