Jiang Xiao Ning walked into the sweet shop, she hadn't been here in a while and was happy she had a chance to come to get some of her favorite candy. After she got inside the shop, it didn't look too crowded and she started to look for the sweets she liked Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Peppermint Toads and Liquorice Wands. She notices some students in the shop, she did miss her days at Hogwarts and sometimes she wishes she could go back to those days, but she loves her modeling career. She looks around to see if there's anything else she wants to have, trying to decide if she wants to get some candy for her niece and nephews. Though she can't remember what their favorite sweets are anymore, she would have to ask her older brother and older sister about that.
She continued to look around the shop, grabbed a few chocolate wands, sugar quills and cauldron cakes, she always wanted to try them. She couldn't find anything else that she wanted to have, so she went to pay for her sweets and gave the cashier the money, leaves the shop after getting her bag of candy.
Nox wouldn't say it was a long day, but it had been a tiring one, the wizard thought absently as he stepped out of the Rutherford College grounds, waving at a few of his passing classmates. He had stopped by the train station to look at the express and question about any repairs that were needed right then - luckily for him, nothing was needed other than some small maintenance - and then he had jogged right off to Rutherford to catch one of his professors; he had a question on an assignment. During this time, he had managed to avoid a Hogwrts Owl from his sister, no doubt to screech aobut how he had left her to fend for herself on the Hogwarts Express first day. No doubt the owl was waiting at home though, letter and all. At least he had left out treats and water - if only because he knew his sister was going to send to him.
Nox stretched when he got off Rutherford grounds, wincing for a second as his spine popped - he was still getting used to working and school and he was paying for it - stiffly. Before, it had just been school, amd he hadn't been activing working after - unsure of what he really wanted to do post Hogwarts. After a good few years though, Nox decided he couldn't just sit around - though as a pureblood, he had plenty of money to do so. Nox just got quite bored, and so, after his sister had come crashing down like a (very expected) hurricane, he decided he needed to do something. Thus his current job as the Hogwarts Express Engineer.
At least it kept him busy, Nox thought mildly. He cracked his neck, listening to the satisfying pop, before his eye caught sight of someone familiar exiting the ever familiar Honeydukes. A smile tugged on his lips, Nox watching as the witch lugged out a rather hefty looking bag on her way out. Nox shook his head; that girl and her sweets. He gently jogged over before falling into step with a, "Got a sugar quill in there for me?"

Jiang Xiao Ning stood in front of the door, opening her bag to look at her sweets. She contemplated whether she should eat any of them, deciding that having a few every once in a while would be fine. She figured she could share some of the treats with her friends who weren't models and didn't need to watch their weight.
Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice and looked up to see her friend Nox Ahn approaching. She felt a surge of happiness at seeing him. It had been a while since they last talked, and she missed her friend very much. She listened to what he said and replied with a laugh, "Maybe I just might want them all to myself."
Jiang Xiao Ning reminisced about the time they met in their fifth year at Hogwarts and how they became friends. Little did he know about her crush on him. As she looked at him, she couldn't help but think how cute he still looked and quickly pushed that thought out of her mind.
"What's bringing you to Hogsmeade?" Jiang Xiao Ning asked.
"Surely you can spare one for your bestest friend yeah?" Nox asked, grinning. He rocked on his heels and added, "Or a chocolate wand?" If he remembered correctly, she usually bought chocolate wands and sugar quills. He was fond of ice mice and chocolate frogs if he had to talk candy. They were fun to catch if he was particularly bored.
It must have been some time since they last met up; Nox couldn't remember it for the life of him. He vaguely remembered being told that she was a model now, though he couldn't place who told him. Her question made him blink and Nox laughed, "Did I not tell you? I live in Hogsmeade now. Started school this semester. Plus Sol is at Hogwarts, thought it'd be better to be around."

"I guess I should spare one for my best friend. Honestly, I shouldn't be eating these; I could get in big trouble with my manager. But I missed my favorite sweets and just had to get some," Jiang Xiao Ning said as she reached into her bag of candy. She pulled out a sugar quill and handed it to him. It's no surprise he knows what kind of sweets she likes, they would go to Honeydukes together when they were both going to Hogwarts.
She listens to him answer her question, she shakes her head and doesn't remember him telling her that. "You didn't tell me that, of course I have been very busy up until now. But that's great, where are you going to school now? Oh yeah, what year is she now? and my brother Jiang Zhi is still going there too." Jiang Xiao Ning said.
"Well, I am glad you decided to live in Hogsmeade." Jiang Xiao Ning said, as she smiled at him and hoped they could find time to hang out with each other.
Nox wrinkled his nose. "Oh come on. It's not like you're eating your weight in candy. A wand or two won't kill you." The model industry was strange, Nox noted mildly. A strange industry he was quite pleaed to not have gone into. "Besides, you girls are active enough aren't you? Work out an all? Guys too yeah?" His thoughts were chased to the side when she dug through her bag, pulling out a sugar quill, and Nox grinned again. "You're wonderful, Xiao Ning. Just what I needed." He took it, tearing the package to slip the quill into his mouth. He hadn't eaten earlier and the sugar would do him good.
Nox nodded; life did like to keep people busy, for good or for worse. He had been busy trying to decide, well, everything - what he wanted to do with his life, where in Hogsmeade he wanted to stay, what diploma he was going to go for. Two of those questions had been a lot easier to answer than the last one. Magizoology had always been interesting to him so picking that as a diploma had been a no brainer. "Rutherford. Just up there somewhere," He waved ambiguously in the direction of the school. He had just come down from there. "6th. Ravenclaw, I think." Nox laughed a little, "It wasn't a hard choice. II mean, between going back to school, and helping maintain the Hogwarts Express, not to mention Sol being here. Where else would I go?" London perhaps, or closer to where his dad was. But Apparating too and from would be too much of a hassle when he could just walk to the places he was needed.

"I know that, I work as a model and so I have to watch what I eat, I just have to make sure my manager doesn't find out that I eaten sugar. But as long as I eat something healthy after this, then I should be fine." Jiang Xiao Ning said, her manager always gets on her about eating junk food and she didn't want to hear the speech he gave her again. "Yes, we are active and I do work out. We still have to make sure we eat healthy food, which I do." Jiang Xiao Ning said.
He took the sugar quill from her hand and closed the bag, smiling at what he had said. "I know I'm wonderful, and don't you forget it," Jiang Xiao Ning remarked as she watched him enjoy the sugar quill. She considered asking him a question out of curiosity, but then decided to find out in another way. She heard him answer her question about where he was going to school now.
"Oh, okay. My parents would have loved it if I went there. But it’s good that they support my decision to go into modeling instead. Wow, it’s hard to believe she’s in her sixth year now. That means she is ahead of my brother, who is in the fourth year," Jiang Xiao Ning said.
She listened as he continued speaking, knowing he had always been interested in Magizoology. "I think it’s cool that you are helping to maintain the Hogwarts Express, especially since your sister is here. I chose to model here, so I could be close to my family and I can't imagine living anywhere else." Jiang Xiao Ning said.
"So, what else have you up to?" Jiang Xiao Ning asked.
He was most definitely, not understanding models nor the industry. What was wrong with eating some sweets every now and then? It wasn't like you couldn't burn it off. It could be a problem perhaps if they weren't working out and burning it off. It sounded like Xiaoning was burning it off, so what was wrong with the occasional sweet? What a weird industry. "Not saying you didn't eat healthy. Just not quite understanding the big deal about like...a sugar quill. Especially if you girls are already working out and the like."
He sucked on the sugar quill for a moment, before snapping off the tip of the feather, letting the sugar melt on his tongue. "Nope, not forgetting any time soon." Nox shrugged. "Dad didn't care too much, but mum was happy when I wrote her saying I was going back to school." She was probably tired of him just roaming around with no real plans. Even Sol had plans before him - though hers was also just "Dragons" and it didn't count in his books.
"It's an interesting piece of work, the Express," And it was, really. He was still learning how to care for it, and he was sure that he still won't know how the thing ran by the end. Some sort of magic he wasn't knowledgable about - on top of the inner technology of the train. "Yep, Sol is old." Not nearly as old as himself, and Nox was older, but she was older than the other students, 7th years included, "She was a little miffed when she started. If only because Augustine has a different cirriculum, and Sol gets to be a 6th year instead of 7th, though her age could put her there." He had gotten to hear her whine about it for a while - his sister was just being a whiny baby; she probably got over it by now.

"Oh, I know that. It's not that we can't eat sweets; we just can't eat too many of them, but I ended up buying a bunch. I work out more than the other girls in my company," Jiang Xiao Ning said. The girls she works with do yoga to stay in shape and burn calories, while she prefers going to the gym. She works out for two hours each night. She watched as he snapped off the tip of the sugar quill, and she did the same, letting the sugar melt in her mouth. "Good," Jiang Xiao Ning said, smiling and laughing. One of the things she loves about him is that he makes her laugh and knows how to lift her spirits.
"My dad wished I would have gone to Rutherford College, but he only cares that I am happy with whatever I choose to do. He is glad I’ll still be close to them and the rest of the family. I want to be there to watch my nieces and nephews grow up, and I also want to be around for my younger brother," Jiang Xiao Ning continued.
"I bet it is," she said, reminiscing about her first ride on the Hogwarts Express and how amazing she found it. "Well, compared to us, my brother and your sister are young. They probably think they're old. Oh really? I figured it would be different here. Yeah, I can see why that would be frustrating, and I understand why she might feel that way," Jiang Xiao Ning added.
"Let’s get off the road and find somewhere to sit. Are you thirsty at all?" she asked.
Nox sighed, such a demanding industry his friend worked in. He shook his head but grinned good naturedly, "Well if you've bought too much, you have a dashing best friend to pawn it off to, me." Not that he needed to take her candy - but if she did need to pawn it off to someone, Nox wasn't going to complain of course. Sugar was sugar, and hell, they helped when he had skipped lunch or needed quick pick me up. Speaking of pick me ups, Nox bit off another part of the quill, chewing the sugar crystals - it never failed to make him happy.
He understood the need to be by family. His own had been separated, with his little sister living with his mum, and Nox himself living with his dad. Perhaps if they had been in the same country, it would have been less frustrating when he was growing up, but nope. His mum moved back to Auckland to stay with her side of the family, and his dad stayed in the UK. It made growing up so far away from Sol hard. "That's good. I'm sure you spoil them a lot. Bet you're their favorite aunt." He couldn't say that if Sol ever had kids in the future, if he would be their favorite uncle, but at the least, he would try to not be their most hated uncle.
"Age gaps," Nox agreed. Then he shrugged. "Sol's not that much younger than us, she is 18. So I can see why her being with the 6th years might miff her a little." Nox hummed, and then shook his head at her question of being thirsty. "Not really thirsty. But if you are, we can something." He did agree they should probably start getting out of the road, people were probably wanting to get into Honeydukes for their sugar fix too. He was a touch peckish - though the sugar was helping his energy levels.

"I want to keep some of my candy. I wanted to send some to my brother, so I can only give away a few," Jiang Xiao Ning said. She had bought some of her brother Jiang Zhi's favorite candies to send him. She didn't mind sharing some of the candy she bought because she had always shared her treats with him, and they both liked some of the same candies.
She was glad she had stayed close to her family, as she would have missed them very much if she had moved away. "Of course, it's an aunt's job to spoil her nieces and nephews! You bet I am the favorite aunt," Jiang Xiao Ning laughed. She hoped her siblings would spoil her kids if she ended up having any someday.
"Yeah," Jiang Xiao Ning said, sometimes wishing she had a sibling close to her age. "I would really like to have something to drink; I am very thirsty, to be honest." She noticed her feet were starting to hurt from standing, and they should move out of people's way.
