Time Stamp: Feb//2026.
One would of never expected for two members of the esteemed Hogwarts staff from different disciplines to be leading a group of students to challenge themselves in learning how to love muggle technology, poetry and paraphernalia yet it was the exact thing that caused Rafe Lauren & Roxanna to be meeting at this very point in time.
It was interesting really, the two had formed a connection purely out coincidence after engaging in some leisure conversation in the’-staff room. Through their conversation did Rafe happened to be dragged into a situation where while other members of staff would have been sent them packing with their tails between their legs. Rafe? No, he embraced it.
Finding out about this little study group being led by students was concerning. Not because they were practising the dark arts but more so because learning the Dark Arts under no proper guidance could be disastrous. It’s not often you find a group of students invested in learning such a questionable and controversial branch of Magic in a magical institution that doesn’t really give the light of day for such types of magic.
There was an opportunity here. An opportunity to lead a group of students to discover their learning, their calling some may say, toward the Dark Arts. Rafe & Roxanne had seen an opportunity here to not only provided a safe learning environment for the students but also provide mentoring about dark magic. Rafe, being quite skilled in the Dark Arts and a variety of subjects branches and Roxanne the school leader able to provide support to ensure a safe environment to learn it all.
The time had come to have their first proper meeting. Naturally, the Headmistress would have never approved of such types of learning to be conducted at Hogwarts. Rafe, being the Muggle Studies Professor, had decided to give it a pseudonym of being a Muggle Appreciation Club. He had even gone as far as ensuring that Muggle studies context items were placed sporadically but timely in a specific part to ensure that should someone enter they would see Muggle paraphernalia scatter across the room.
Upon entering the third floor empty classroom, he had drew out his wand and began with setting up a variety of enchantments, protection spells and disillusionment charms to ensure that only those specified on a list, hidden deep in his brain and memory bank would be allowed to enter and hear the full scope of what they were doing here. A good 20 minutes had passed and his enchantments, protective barriers and protection spells had all been set.
Running through the list of members in his mind, Rafe was both surprised at some of the names that took on leadership roles with the group and the members associated with them. While Rafe had no intentions on commandeering the group, he did want to provide support, guidance and establish a reasoning to what they were doing, a purpose some may say.
He knew deep down that even Gio would be quite pleased to know that during his time at Hogwarts he had somewhat taken on a leadership role in such activities and would aid in creating the new generation of potential supporters while giving the students the opportunity to learn Dark Magic in a safe environment.
Now, he waited for the members to arrive as he took a seat in a corner and pulled out a book from his side bag. An enchanted book of its own, Rafe had managed to create this item during his time at the Ministry of Magic. A spell book that held all his spells he had ever created in the past. The book had been enchanted so that only his wand pressed up against it, would reveal the spells placed inside of it. To anyone else, it was just a blank notebook.
He knew that there was going to be questions, concerns, suggestions and possibly distrust. Rafe had no intention of taking full custody of the group but more so, to offer assistance where he could as well as. Guide them on the right path of learning dark magic and provide a safe learning environment with not one but two experienced adults around.

Juvia walked into the room, her eyes scanning the enchanted space with a mix of curiosity and caution. She fiddled with the flower pendant of her necklace, a comforting habit she had developed over the years. The room was filled with muggle paraphernalia, a clever disguise for their true purpose. It was a brilliant move by Professor Lauren, one that she couldn't help but respect. Her gaze fell on Rafe Lauren sitting in the corner with his enchanted book. She had never interacted with him considering her denial for taking the subject he teaches, and while she was intrigued, she also remained wary. Trust was not easily given, especially in matters as delicate as these.
Approaching a seat, she sat down and pulled out her notebook, already filled with her own dark arts research. She was here to learn, yes, but she also had her own insights to share. Juvia's rebellious streak was tempered by a strategic mind; she saw this as an opportunity to both gain knowledge and potentially influence the direction of their studies. She glanced around at the other members as they filed in, recognizing a few faces from her house and others from different years. Levi and Julian had done well in gathering a diverse group. This was not just a club; it was a potential powerhouse of talent and ambition.
Turning her attention back to Rafe, she waited for him to speak. She had questions, of course, but for now, she would observe. There was much to learn from watching how he handled the group's dynamics and the inevitable skepticism that would arise. The dark arts were a path fraught with danger and misunderstanding, but Juvia was determined. She would walk this path with her head held high, ready to prove that her interest in these forbidden magics was not a mere curiosity, but a calling.
she open to interaction
but you're in self-sabotage mode throwing spikes down on the road but i've seen this episode and still loved the show

Additional new faces often meant introductions but there was one person in the room that drew his attention and this time it wasn't a student. It was adults. It took some convincing but Levi finally accepted having them around yet like many others, he would e weary of who was actually there and their purpose. He had never expected them to be actively pursuing the Dark Arts in an empty classroom but that was the exact setting they had been facing today.
He walked in and saw not only Professor Lauren there but also Juvia. One of his own recruits that had won over both Julian and himself after numerous eventful encounters. " Himura. " He said changing into his black robes as he sat down and took a seat next to her waiting for the others to arrive.
He had hoped that this study session wouldn't end like the last with one person being escorted out of the Room of Requirement need first aid. " Great to see you here. " He winked an eye toward Juvia as he finished changing. " What have you got there? " He asked before glancing over to Lauren once more and over to Juvia.

"Hilfiger", she responded with a calm and measured tone. His presence made her feel a little bit more confident about being here, allowing her mind to ease and become less dependent on the flower pendant.
Juvia glanced to her notebook, and then up to him. "A little bit of everything. I have some notes about classmates, some notes about what I know so far. Nothing identifying."

Orion was pleased with how this 'club' had grown in size from just being himself, Mulciber, Hilfiger and Thorne. He didn't trust the adults but he trusted Maeve's judgements. The number of students involved was also a little concerning but they had made their precautions. It was interesting to see how many students had secretly (and some not so secretly) held the same beliefs as he did. He settled quietly, observing.
For the most part, Luca wasn't sure how he'd ended up joining a club of all things - he wasn't exactly the most sociable of boys, he didn't radiate warmth. And perhpas that had lent to why. When Maeve had approached him about joining, he'd had a myriad of questions. He didn't ask any of them. He'd figured out pretty quickly that the club itself was very hush, hush so asking questions felt a pointless exorcise. And he did nothing that was pointless.
As he entered the room, he eyed the faces around him, some he regonised by sight alone, some by name. It mattered not really. He just wanted to know what this all was about and so he moved to lean himself against a table and shove a hand into his pocket, waiting for some enlightenment.

The Muggle Appreciation Group. Were they actually serious? Julian swept from his dormitory after dropping off everything he had required for his classes for the day, brows furrowed and headache rising behind his eyes: tension. At least the Dark Arts Club commanded some respect - how was he to hold his head high when mentioning his participation in a club for appreciating Muggles?
Julian felt his eye twitch as he moved swiftly through the halls, a clustered group of younger students practically leaping out of his way with surprised yelps. He was wroth that the Dark Arts Club had been expropriated from its initial Founders, and he was concerned that it would now be defaced by the introduction of these two imposters. He had been there when the club had been uncovered by Kearn, and although he had attempted to take the fall for his cousins accident to save Thorne, the plan had fallen apart. He was still here - not expelled, as he was completely prepared to be. He wasn't entirely sure what was worse: being removed from the school by the authorities for supposedly endangering the life of a first-year, or now having to suffer through being paraded around by two adults under the guise of being an appreciator of mudbloods, the Founders control over the club diminished.
Once on the third floor, he stalked aggressively down the practically empty hallway, snapping to turn at the usually empty classroom. It was not so empty today, however. Julian did not falter in his steps in surprise at the sudden change of scenery inside, moving instead across the front of the room with his usual ease, eyes darting down to the empty notebook in Laurens' hands. Curious. Cocking an eyebrow at the sight thoughtfully, he then turned his attention to those already present, eyes falling on the two students seated together toward the front: Hilfiger and Himura. Seeing her there sparked an prideful feeling in him as thus far Julian had rarely extended a hand of welcome to anyone, but this one seemed to have paid off. Her chosen presence meant that his cautious choosing had proven worth - she was curious and determined - he could appreciate that. Julian tore his eyes away from the two - where they landed instead on Hawthorne, who was seated alone, observing his surroundings. Julian watched him a moment, briefly wondering if he, too, were irked by this new proposed hierarchy. Moving on, his gaze then fell on Conti, who stood against one of the tables rather casually, hands shoved in pockets. He had not interacted with the younger Slytherin much as of yet, but knew he was a Firenze transfer. Julian seemed to have a thing for transfer students.
He tore his gaze away from the collected students, wondering where the Healer was.
Julian placed himself by one of the arched windows, leaning on its frame. He glanced outward and down onto the grounds briefly, eyes catching a slight shimmer on the glass. Protective barriers. Rafe was thorough.
With more students finally arriving to their so called meeting, Rafe knew it wouldn't be long before he had to provide a formal introduction. He had actually spent earlier that day preparing for this very moment. A speech if any. He also knew not to address the group until everyone was present. He didn't know for sure how many would actually turn up but one he was looking for was Roxanne. His so called co-leader. He had set the time for the meeting himself and had personally told her about it ensuring that she would attend. Perhaps there was a medical emergency that required her assistance? None the less, Rafe continued to make eye contact with some of the students, he knew that a single nod to those already there would suffice for now until the others and Roxanne arrived.

Septimus had not been sure what to think when Orion had first approached him. It was also always so hard to tell what Hawthorne was truly thinking, even for him. Even so, the concept had appealed to the Head Boy and his interest in the darker arts. So here he was, he took note of who was there. After all, it was unlikely that anyone would have been recruited blindly. They were too careful to invite people who did not have a confirmed interest in the dark side of magic. He found himself a seat near Orion and waited to see who else would be showing up.

Phoenix had been invited to join the 'study group' by Maeve and it had now become a club. He did not think much of the name, even if it was just a cover. Maeve did not seem to have arrived yet which made him uneasy. He had understood her to be one of the main leaders and it did not sit well with him for the adults to have taken over from her without her even being present.
Still, he nodded in greeting to his fellow students as he took a seat.

When Olivia said she was going to recommend him to join one of her favorite clubs - he'd thought that she was going to ask him to join something class-related, he hadn't been too excited but had agreed because he thought her pretty. As he entered the room though, he wondered what she'd gotten him into, muggle protection?, was she serious? His eyes scanned the room for her and when he didn't spot her, he did the only thing he thought best, moved to sit in the corner and wait. It was either that or leave and she might throw something at him.

His eyes glanced over to the doorway as more and more faces began to appear. Some he had known for a while. Through other classes and some he didn’t really expect to see in this particular club. “ Look, it’s little Mazelow. “. He responded to Juvia putting on hold the conversation they were having as he stood up and walked over to him.
“ What a surprise seeing you here. “ He voiced toward Drake as he folded his arms. He hadn’t expected Drake of all people to be here but then again, who was he to judge? He was after all,, one of the co-founders.

Little Mazelow. . It wasn't directed at him but he'd overheard it all the same and it caused him to bristle, though he wasn't sure why. Almost everything caused him to bristle, lately.
"Wasn't expecting to see you here either," he said and shoved his hands into his pockets as he slouched down in the chair a little to feign nonchalance. "Come here often?" he asked, brow quirked.

Levi eyed down the boy's raised eyebrow letting out a cheeky smile on his face. " Me? " he asked placing his hand on his chest. " Well I do frequent this group quite a lot. " He said as he looked around at the other members of the Muggle Club. " I mean, I am a co-founder after all and a recruiter too. " He replied with the same cheeky smile he had on his face.
" Maeve had spoken highly of you. " He added allowing a few seconds to pause between them. " I can't wait to see what you can bring to the team. " He further stated as he walked on over toward Julian but only after winking an eye. " Numbers are getting bigger by the meeting. " He greeted Julian knowing he wouldn't have much to say in all reality.

The potioneering accident that left her bedridden for weeks and led to the discovery of their secret group pervaded Olivia with a constant feeling of guilt. She had endangered everyone, in several ways - the poisonous fumes could have harmed them, and her getting interrogated could have gotten them expelled. Even though it now seemed like Kearn and Lauren were trying to help the students, she was a little wary. The Healer had questioned her with the use of Veritaserum, which meant Olivia would probably hate the woman for years to come. Professor Lauren was mostly a stranger, although he did substitute that History of Magic lesson and seemed to have what her father would call the correct views.
Since recruitment to the group was being encouraged now, she had recommended two of her friends who showed interest in the Dark Arts. Nathaniel and Drake were both open-minded when it came to magic. She wasn't yet entirely certain about Drake's views, but she knew Nathaniel's opinion about Muggles and Muggleborns. The new club name alone might startle them - Olivia didn't like it herself. Everyone would think she was interested in the non-magical cultures. Muggle Protection Club. Disgusting.
She arrived at the designated location, surveying the room carefully. It looked very much like one would expect a Muggle-related club gathering to look - she supposed Lauren was thorough in this cover-up. Noting Julian and Levi near a window, she considered approaching them but decided against it. The number of new members meant her amicable bonds with Julian would be seen by eyes she did not yet trust; Olivia didn't want to get him into any more trouble, and her own parents didn't need another reason to be upset with her. Instead, she went to Drake.
"You won't be disappointed with this club, I promise," she assured him, taking a seat nearby.
