It had been a stupid plan. So very stupid. And for once, Lillian had been caught.

Since she had started at Hogwarts, the first year had been fascinated by the size of the castle and all the possible mysteries it could contain. The moving staircases, the secret passageways, the classrooms that seemed to move locations on specific days. It was all fascinating to the young Gryffindor. Unfortunately, there were only so many hours in the day, and since most were taken by classes, Lillian had begun exploring the castle after curfew. So far she had been lucky, able to avoid getting caught by professors or prefects. That day… it seemed her luck had run out.

After hearing from Blaise about the events of the previous year, she had been curious to find this mysterious room in which they had caught the evil professor. Armed with her father’s invisibility cloak, given to her before she started at Hogwarts, she had made her way over to the seventh floor corridor, trying to find the area he had described. She wasn’t one hundred percent certain how it worked, Blaise hadn’t been the most clear in his instructions, but she was desperate to discover one more secret.

He had mentioned something about pacing, and so she had spent what felt like hours, wandering up and down the halls, walking back and forth in different locations in the hope something would happen. So far, nothing had, other than attracting the attention of a prefect. Ylfa, of all people. Lillian tried to simply walk further away, hoping she would leave when she didn’t see anyone, but didn’t realize the cloak had slipped slightly, revealing her feet. Before she knew it, Ylfa had closed the gap between them and was reaching towards her, causing the cloak to come tumbling down at their feet. Lillian was left completely exposed, eyes wide in fear, and all she managed to sputter out was, “Please, please don’t tell my dad.”
