New Character Rule

We have a new character rule here on TB, which is that new Hogwarts students may only be a first - fourth year (fourth year requires a Proficiency Exam) regardless of if you're a new member or not.
EXCEPTIONS:
-- Canon characters
-- Wanted ads (but only if you already have a first - fourth year)
There are a few reasonings behind this change:
-- Our time moves by twice as fast as in real life, which means that characters grow up faster than you would expect. Each term is only 5 real months, which means that when you make older years, they won't be in school for very long, especially when you join near the end of term.
-- Why we have it at fourth and not fifth is also to give you guys an opportunity to become active with them before the Prefects choosing in between terms.
-- We currently have more fifth years than first, second, third and fourth combined, which isn't very good at all. We have developed a very active student life on TB for characters with active lessons, clubs and many Gringotts items to buy and have and that 'Hogwarts vibe' has been sort of lost in the past few months since we have mostly older students just partying a lot. Let's get that magic back. (:
OTHER UPDATES:
Starting in the new term, we will only be having one official dance/party thread each term. Feel free to make your own, but it will not be announcementized for the rest of the site. In the past few terms, that's all that any mass students events have been (other than Quidditch). But if you have other ideas for mass student events, please feel free to do them and I'll announcementize them. (:
Quidditch Cup will be done differently now. For the past 4 terms (including this one), the Quidditch Cup went to the team with the most points over the course of the 6 games, like in the books. However, we split the games up into 3 years (2 games per year) so we don't overwhelm people with 6 games in one term (we did that once - didn't go well, lol). And then all the participants of those three years of the winning team get the Quidditch Cup. However, at that point (1.5 real years later for some people), not a lot of those characters are active anymore, so it almost seems pointless. ): So now we are going to be doing it differently - still the same two games per year it would normally be. However, instead of the Quidditch Cup going to the overall winners of the three years collectively, there will be a Championship Game each year between the winners of the two games in that year. Then the winning team of the Championship Game will get the Quidditch Cup for that term. (: Any questions, just ask. <3
