Before he became Bludworth Bathory, Kristoff Barstad was a Norwegian four year old who was kidnapped by pirates at the age of four with nine other young boys after witnessing the deaths of his parents at their very hands. Ivan Daggerhorn, the ruthless leader of a crew of pirates, swiped children with the intention of breeding a bloodthirsty new generation of sea bandits. Of the ten children, Kristoff was the only one to survive until the age of eleven, the cutthroat demeanor of a pirate forever engraved into his psyche.
One night, at the age of eleven, he was serving his shift in the ship's crow's nest while the other pirates slept. He was startled awake by a Hogwarts representative appearing to him on a broom and informing him of his being a wizard. Kristoff informed her of the situation he had been in for years and took the chance to finally make his escape. He gathered what he could and left with the witch on her broom – but not before creeping into Ivan's cabin as he slept, slashing his throat with a dirk, and making off with all of his doubloons...
Kristoff then donned the alias of Bludworth Bathory, in tribute to the carnage his young eyes had to witness and take part in.
After taking residence in an orphanage in 1704, he attended Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin House, which was an uncommon place for a Muggle-born to be sorted. This did not perturb Bludworth, as he was enchanted by the House the moment he set foot into its common room; its underwater-shipwreck atmosphere made him feel more than at home. After eventually learning of Salazar Slytherin's detest for students of no magical heritage, Bludworth swore to become the first ever Muggle-born to be appointed Head of Slytherin.
He was appointed the school's Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor two years before finally being made Head of Slytherin in 1728. He also lead a clandestine career of flying across the seas on his broom and using magic to hunt other pirates for their treasure, subsequently obliviating their memories and turning them in for hefty bounties.
However, Selena Gaunt would carry out his murder after he completed but one term as Slytherin's Head. Selena had been ridiculed and shamed by her family for losing the position to a Muggle-born.
Selena one day spied Bludworth hiding a bottle of spiced rum underneath his desk. Once he left, Selena entered the classroom and laced it with a vial of potent poison. Having lost his wife to childbirth, a vulnerable Bludworth was easily seduced into a boat ride on the Black Lake that very night by Selena. She proposed a toast to the new Head of Slytherin and withdrew her own bottle of Butterbeer; Bludworth withdrew his bottle of spiced rum from his coat's jack, unaware that it had been poisoned. They both downed their beverages...and the poison took effect the second Bludworth leaned in for a kiss.
Taking advantage of his poisoned, debilitated state, Selena plunged his head into the water, drowning him. What she didn't count on, however, was Bludworth coming back as a ghost and exposing her as his murderess. Selena ultimately received the Dementor's Kiss for her crime.
From then on, Bludworth haunted the Black Lake and any purist who ridiculed students of his blood status. So don't be spooked if you're alone in the Slytherin common room and hear an eerie sea shanty being sang outside the windows...

Angus is a bookish, quirky guy with a considerable intrigue for snakes – he also just happens to be a Parselmouth! Despite whatever perceived fallacies you may have about him, he is the furthest thing from Herpo the Foul or the late Dark Lord. The only thing he has in common with them (aside from the ability to speak with serpents) is the ownership of a Basilisk.
Angus has utilized his ability to train Bastion to keep his lethal gaze concealed upon the sensing of humans in his vicinity. Nonetheless, this combined with Angus's minacious hexing skills would make Angus a formidable adversary for anyone who would oppose him.
But don't let his intimidating assets unnerve you; he could be a great pal to you and your associates.
Just be mindful that even he holds a dark side...
