Romy ran her gloved hand along the handle of her broom as she waited by the entrance to the Quidditch stadium for her teammates to arrive. The school’s ball crate was by her feet and she could hear the Bludgers thumping inside, eager to be released. The junior team captain waved at each arriving player with excitement to match that of the Bludgers.
“Hi, everyone! Instead of the usual practices, I thought we could try some specific Quidditch tactics today. I researched some fun and effective strategies for each position that we can apply in our games, and I think they will be helpful if you are in the main team as well and need some extra manoeuvres to improve.” Romy herself had never tried out for the main Hufflepuff team, but she supported all her junior teammates who also played with the older students. “These are the tactics I suggest we practise…”

Jack was happy to be in the junior team as well as the big one, it gave him opportunities to fill in gaps in his Quidditch knowledge and technique. As it turns out, there seemed to be a few of those. He blinked, having barely heard of the techniques Romy mentioned. He suddenly felt very exposed, and hoped he wouldn’t have to do any of them just yet. He made a mental note to read up on them later.
