After the sudden flirtations and the events at the end of last term between Lottie and Levi, she was quite nervous to see him again. Somehow, their friendship didn't feel the same anymore. She hadn't written to him all summer, not quite sure what to say, but she was both excited and nervous to see him again.
The butterflies in her stomach were especially active when he came up to her in the Great Hall and mentioned quietly to her to meet him in the courtyard after classes.
Classes had gone by so slowly. Lottie checked her watch far too often and was barely even paying attention to most of it. Thankfully it was the first week of classes so they weren't getting too deep into learning, but they definitely were learning harder things than in previous years.
Finally classes were done and Lottie freshened up first before going to the courtyard. She was still in her robes but so were many at this time of day. She didn't sit down; she wasn't sure if she could keep still. Instead, she pretended to check out some new flowers that were planted near one of the pillars, while absolutely not thinking about flowers.

Last year had opened up a whole range of emotions for the young Ravenclaw. From finding out his likes and dislikes to somewhat starting a thing with Lottie to making friendships with people who he normally would not give the slighted daylight too. Last year allowed him to not only discover more about himself but more about those around him. It was a year worth living and he was kind of glad to have had experienced it all.
He knew that the early weeks of the year weren't too busy but in true Levi fashion, he was already studying things that they hadn't even covered yet. He spoke to a few other senior students to get an idea of what was coming up and how he should prepare for his O.W.L's. He did exceptional last year with his studies but he wasn't pleased considering he didn't get O's in everything. Potions was always a worrisome thing for him.
Carrying with him a Transfiguration textbook and dressed up in his school robes, Levi made his way down to the Courtyard to meetup with Lottie. He was a little upset that Lottie had not written to him considering they had hit it off [pretty well last year. " Not one letter. All summer. " He said upon seeing Lottie in the distance. His voice being thrown ton cover the distance between them.

Lottie's breath caught in her throat when she saw Levi come towards her. There was still some distance between them when he spoke, but she couldn't even tell. Everything else in the courtyard just sort of faded into the background. And then she remembered to breathe again.
She couldn't deny he was right. She hadn't sent him a letter. "Well neither did you," she retorted. She took a few steps towards him as he kept walking to her as well. She wondered why he didn't if he seemed to notice that she hadn't either. Maybe he also didn't know what to say. Up until this moment, though, she figured that all those flirtations were just for fun, not meaning a thing to Levi. But now... she wasn't so sure. But that was all probably just wishful thinking.
"Hi," she said back, a little soft spoken. They were quite close to each other now. It was simple and... a little odd, all things considered. But maybe odd was good.

Hearing Lottie's soft voice always sent Levi into a little twirl of happiness. Whilst others may of experienced butterflies, Levi was experiencing the whole animal kingdom in full roar in his stomach. A sensation so strong it almost felt like he was going to puke. He took a short gulp as he get closer to Lottie where a soft smile was placed on his face upon seeing hers.
" I had every intention to write..." He responded before biting his lip slightly. "....But like, I was just busy with helping dad and mum out a lot." Though he wouldn't and couldn't actually explain with what kind of work he was doing with his parents. " How was your summer? You look visually appealing. Did you change your hair or did you get new skin?" He asked looking into the distance frowning slightly.
Visually appealing? New skin? I'm such an idiot.
In true Levi style, he happened to ask such an awkward question once again. "So what have you been up to?" He asked hoping to change the topic rather quickly before locking his eyes back at Lottie's but only after taking a glimpse of her lips.

Lottie felt like she might melt. She loved to see Levi smile. She didn't know why... but it was just something she loved to see. And it made her smile as well.
Biting his lip? Was that supposed to be flirting? Lottie didn't know. But it did bring her attention there and now she couldn't think straight again. But then he was talking and she was determined to hear what he had to say. Focus, Lottie.
"Oh yeah, makes sense, makes sense..." she said with a nod. "I have a brother now, so I guess my summer was pretty busy too." She absolutely could have written. But dealing with Tynan was a whole thing. He didn't seem to like being adopted very much, which confused Lottie. Why would he like to be in that orphanage more than their house?
Lottie tilted her head to the side slightly at Levi's odd comments. Visually... what now? "Erm, I'm just the same, I suppose. I guess I'm older?" Lottie tucked some of her hair behind her ear, feeling suddenly self-conscious about it. "You look umm..." There were a lot of things she wanted to say but it felt weird to say aloud. "You look good too."
"Oh, well, uh.." Now normal conversation, okay. Lottie, you know this. You can say words. She had gotten so lost in... No, she couldn't think of that right now. Focus. Focus. She took a few steps to the side towards one of the benches and sat down there, hoping Levi would join her. "Mostly trying to stay in shape for Quidditch, I suppose. Can't be letting you knock me off my broom." She chuckled. Would he, though? She knew that was the game, but she suddenly couldn't bear the thought of it.
"And doing some reading." She did like to read, that was true. "I hear you're a Prefect now. Congrats," she said. "What about your summer? Did you have fun?"

Have a brother now? Did she not have one before? He voiced his questions internally as he continued to smile listening to what she had to say. He noticed Lottie looking at his lips which made him slightly anxious and quite self conscious. Was his breakfast still on his face? He wiped his lips in confidence as he hoped whatever Lottie was looking at was now gone.
" Ahh, that must be a lot of fun. Someone to pick on I guess. " He joked smiling before he really started to wonder if Lottie had ever mentioned her brother before. How could there be a new addition all of a sudden unless her mother had given birth over the last few weeks or month. He thought long and hard if Lottie had ever mentioned a brother before but he couldn't recall a time where she did make mention of it.
" Yeah. Like, visually appealing. Like your face appeals my eyes and your skin looks new. " He replied as he laughed nervously as his voice broke on his last few words highlighting his constant physiological change in his body. " Thanks you too." He replied to Lottie's sentence complimenting him.
" Quidditch. " He replied almost screaming it still unsure on how to act around her. Why was he more awkward than normal Levi would be. " I like Quidditch too." He replied knowing that by now she had established the fact considering he too was on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. " Oh well, you can push up on me any time you want. " He said before once again looking into the distance frowning feeling the blood rush to his face.
" Oh I meant. Like. Um." He was starting to lose words and it almost came to the point where only incoherent sounds were rolling out of his mouth. " You can bump on my broom. I mean like. Just . " He took a deep sigh before focusing on his breathing for a second. " You're welcome to bump me off my broom." He finally worded after what felt like a tounge tying jinx had been placed on him.
" Thank you." He said finally able to bring those incoherent sounds together to form words and sentences. " I'm looking forward to being a prefect! It'll be interesting. " He paused for a second when asked how his holidays were. He couldn't exactly say his father used him as a training dummy for the Dark Arts but he had to think of something to reply with.
" It was interesting. What did you have planned for today?" He asked hoping to move past the holidays topic.

Lottie laughed. "Oh definitely not. I think I'm a little too smart to pick on Tynan," she said truthfully. He was a grump to everyone and Lottie hoped that at home, she would be able to see a softer side of him. But there just didn't seem to be one. And he was older so she couldn't even try to act like a big sister to him.
Now he was overexplaining the 'visually appealing' comment. She hadn't even mentioned how odd it was, and there he was explaining himself without prompting. "Well thank you," she said, not sure what else to say. She never even thought about her skin much. Should she? She would have to table that thought for later, though.
Lottie laughed again. "Well yeah, I thought you did. You are on your House team, after all!" Levi was being so silly today, saying such strange things. But it did make for very entertaining conversation.
Push up on..? she thought. Suddenly she had a thought of leaning against him and looked down a bit, trying to hide her blush. She looked back and it seemed that Levi had looked away as well. They were suddenly looking at each other again, at the same time. "Oh! Well I'm not sure about that. Unless you just want me to nurse you back to health afterwards.." Lottie's eyes widened at her bold statement. "I mean not me! I mean someone. Like the Healer. Because then you wouldn't have to go to class, wouldn't that be grand?" Now it was Lottie's turn to say things strangely, it seemed.
"I guess no more forest adventures for us, then. You have to be a good boy." Lottie teased, smiling a little more flirtatiously than she meant to.
"Oh, erm..." Lottie didn't have anything planned! After Levi asked her to meet him in the Courtyard, everything else went out the window. "Nothing, really. What about you?"

“Yes because picking on people is never. Fun.” He agreed really unsure on what else to say but only decided to agree with her to try and find some common ground. Still, Levi found himself pondering on who Tynan was and what they looked like. Was it the same Tynan that he had encountered here in Hogwarts? The Slytherin or someone else? Would it be considered invasion of privacy if he were to ask?
A moment of silence felt like an eternity when he finally managed to find some solace in Lottie speaking in gibberish the very same way Levi was to her. “ Oh, yeah.” He replied finally managing to put his incoherent sounds together to form words. “ You’re welcome to nurse me after you push up on my broom. “He replied this time more confident than the last. He knew what he was doing and even raised an eyebrow.
“I’m always a good boy.” He whispered as he smiled in a manner that he thought was rather attractive but instead, he actually looked like the Cherisher cat from the Muggle film Alice in Wonderland. “ Are you a good girl?” He finally asked before shaking his head and looking away into the distance. “ I mean like, we’re both good people but are we good kids?” And so began his incoherent words and nonsense once again.
“Umm, I was actually kinda hoping…. “ He said before pausing thankful that Lottie had asked him what his plans were. Truth be told, he didn’t have much plans but he did just want to spend his day around Lottie. “Maybe you can help me with my rounds or something?” He suggested as a poor way to ask Lottie to spend more time with him.
