Levi waited to see if Nicha would continue to question him about his break or if they would focus on something else. He began panting a little and blowing air out of his mouth to try and cool down what ever was left over from the spicy food he had just ate. “ Sorry. “ He stated hoping not to offend Nicha for her food choices. “ I’m just not very good with spicy food.” He even tried to counter the spicy foods with more candy to offset it.
Whilst this helped a little, he knew that it would fade out in a short matter of time. He took a short glance at the window once more knowing his own parents were not there as they were required to work on their day off from the industry. “ We’ll be off soon.“ He replied as he got more comfy in their spacious compartment.
His eyes peered over to what Nicha was showing him. “Prefect?” He replied with a smile as he reached into his own pocket and pulled out his own prefect badge. “ Guess we’re gonna be working together kinda.” He replied with a smile on his face. He wanted to make his former Head Boy proud and knew that Ken would have loved to hear about this too.

Don stifled a laugh at the miscommunication. "Fourth grade. We call them years at Hogwarts, so I'm a fourth-year." Though something of an oddball, the older teenager seemed to be a pleasant guy - and with an interesting backstory. He hadn't exactly answered about the reason for his transfer from this Augustine school to Hogwarts, but Don decided not to pry.
He did feel a little hungry, and the cookie he'd eaten had only served to boost his appetite. Taking out some silver and copper coins, he quickly counted them before buying a few cauldron cakes. The Australian boy did not seem to bother with maths, shoving much more money than was required at the trolley lady. "That 'change' might have been worth about half of what she had on the trolley," he informed Calvin. So this guy must be rich, too - simply not understanding the local currency would not enable him to make such a miscalculation so nonchalantly. Biting into one of his cauldron cakes, the fourth-year listened to Calvin tell more about himself.
"Wait up, you were in the Dodecawizard? I know so many people who were disappointed that Hogwarts wasn't taking part this time. And wasn't the winner a Hogwarts transfer? I think I read an article in the Daily Prophet..." He tried to remember her name, but all he could recall was that his friend, Willow, had once had a crush on her. Oh, and that she used to be a Chaseer for Gryffindor - quite a good one, too.

Still trying to get his head around things, Calvin listened closely to what Don had to say when he explained the years. " Right... so I'm assuming I'm a fifth year? " He asked considering some of the subjects he took were listed for fifth year OWL's whatever they were. " So what's an OWL? Is that like an actual owl? The Headmistress sent me an owl about an owl. " He giggled at the sentence. " Heh, owl sending me an owl. " He whispered again before smiling.
" Oh no!" He replied as he looked over at the stash of coins he had left over in his pocket. There was close to 25 Galleons still in his pocket. Unfortunately, no one had bothered to explain the currency system to him during his transfer. Not even Desiree. " So you're saying I'm still short? Do I need to call the trolly lady back? " He asked as he peaked outside to see where she was but was long gone.
" Yeah! I came up as first runner up. " He said proudly however hiding the fact that he had to wear some silly school uniform that identified him as the champion for his former school. " Silvia was the winner. She was honestly fantastic. " He replied with a smile on his face. " I may of accidently threw a spell at her at some point but she is a powerful ally and a strong friend too! " He always spoke so highly of her even when not in her presence. He often wondered what had happened to the others. He had written letters. before but had never received a response back.

"I don't know, you might be? You look old enough to be a sixth- or even a seventh-year, though." Don shrugged. It was strange that this guy didn't even know which year he would be starting in. He seemed to be one of those laid-back, careless people who wanted to enjoy life one day at a time.
It took Don a moment to unravel Calvin's question. "Oh, you mean O.W.L.s? It's the exams students take at the end of their fifth year. Ordinary Wizarding Levels." Gosh - here he was, informing another person about the English wizarding world. Just like its local inhabitant.
He snorted at the Australian's concern of having paid too little. "No, you overpaid by a lot," he explained. "I'm guessing you don't have Galleons in Australia. They're the golden coins, worth seventeen of the silver Sickles or four hundrer and ninety-three of the bronze Knuts. Most prices on the trolley were in Sickles, but you paid in Galleons." Don was pretty good with money; he was starting to consider taking Wizarding Finance as a subject in his sixth year.
"Anyway, congrats on winning the second place?" He wasn't sure if that meant anything, or if Dodecawizard was the type of competition one either won or lost. He took another bite from the Cauldron Cake and felt Pickles roll into his lap, having finished introducing himself to the girls.
"Do you have Pygmy Puffs in Australia? I think they were first bred here in Britain a few decades ago." He lifted the furry green critter and offered it to Calvin. "His name is Pickles - he's very friendly."

Whilst Desiree had given him an overview of Hogwarts history at the most basic levels, one thing that stood out to him were that the houses almost resembled personalities to some extent. He began to wonder if his personality matched the house he would be sorted into. He then wondered what house the trolley girl was sorted into and if one's honesty was taken into account with their sorting. That is, if she event went to Hogwarts.
” Oh man, so the year I transfer over I have exams? “ Calvin pouted slightly allowing his eyes to look back up at Don. “ What’s involved in the exam? Is it like back in Australia where I there is a practical and theory segment? “ The year hadn't even started and already Calvin felt like he was 4 years behind.
Calvin listened to what the boy had said as he looked back down at his coins. They were all gold and now it was apparent that the gold coins had a higher significant value compared to some of the coins the boy mentioned that he didn’t even have. “ You’rereally good with finance? Maybe you could do my banking for me? “ His own cousin normally did the financing for him and his family but he had none of that here.
“ Thank you. “ He smiled in a goofball kind of way. “ I mean, it’s not a proper title or anything.” He explained trying not to boast. “ But it was a good experience, I was kinda glad I got selected. I met my girlfriend there. She studies fashion now at Rutherford or something like that. “ He added before being asked about a creature.
“ Why are they so fluffy? “ He replied holding the creature softly and smiling before looking at Don in the eyes. “ So when do you kill it and add it to a potion ? “

It was a new term, and Heirans increasingly had the feeling that the years were passing faster and faster. It seemed yesterday that he was in the first year and was a small student, scared and vulnerable. Until it finally blossomed into one of the best students. Now that he had finished examining the platforms and ensuring that at least most of the students were inside the train. Then he got into the wagon, wearing his Hogwarts robe already and his badge indicating that he was prefect. It was passing several compartments until the fifth compartment. There he found Levi and Nicha. Had it come to his attention that both boys had been chosen as prefects, maybe it would be an opportunity to meet them? He knocked on the door with a shy smile and entered the room.
Despite wearing the robe, he always wore his loyal hoodies and backwards cap “Hello guys. I have been told that you two have been chosen as prefects. My congratulations.” he said, taking a seat next to Levi, and tilted his head “Do you have any expectations as regards being prefect?” he asked, truly intrigued. Heirans was that kind of person who always tried to socialize and have opportunities to meet people. Actually, he had already met Levi but not the Hufflepuff’s girl. He knew which house they belonged to and what names they had, because of his photographic memory. Something startled him and he went to examine outside but he saw no danger whatsoever “My apologies.” he said, with a slightly reassuring smile.
He took out his book and opened it, tilting his head to start reading although he was fully able to speak and read at the same time, Heirans was accustomed to multi-tasking. He had done it in his karting practices during the summer, and once he was graduated, he could dedicate himself completely in Formula 3, as his coach had commented. He was not the first person to leave the magical world and become a racing driver, he had already seen him in the famous dirver Mateo Lidenbrock, who before being a driver was a professor at Hogwarts. He looked at both people, “I just hope there’s not much drama this year and that someone will petrify the students.” muttered, recalling an incident where one of the students did that in a moment of extreme rage.

Levi had been waiting for Nicha to reply when they were greeted by yet another Ravenclaw. "HEIRANS!" He called out with an excited tone before he began smiling at his old friend. Although a few years his senior, he had the pleasure of knowing Heirans through some lessons and of course with both of them being Prefects and Ravenclaws.
" This here is Nicha." He introduced looking over to her and back to Heirans. " Well, I'm excited to take on a leadership role in all honesty. " He replied looking at his own badge before placing it onto his school robes. " I'm just excited. " His parents were proud although they would never care to admit it. " Oh, Nicha is also a Hufflepuff prefect too. "
" Students petrified? " He joked before laughing slightly. " Oh come on, that history of magic textbook isn't always real is it? " He asked in a half hearted joking manner before he started to question his own statement. " I mean, it's a history book but how accurate could it actually be with Hogwarts repeating the past. "

Changing schools and having to take major exams during the same term - that sounded like a terrible deal. "Seems so - tough luck. But yes, I think O.W.L.s are pretty much the same everywhere, even if they're called differently in your country. Theory and practice, all standard and boring."
He snorted at the offer to take care of Calvin's banking, taking it as a joke. "Sure - as long as you pay me a salary for it."
The Australian teen proceeded to mention his girlfriend, which prompted Don to do some more mental math. "Wait... is she older than you by, like, a lot? If you're only a fifth-year, and she's already going to Rutherford, that has to be at least three years' difference." It sounded like Calvin had captured a cougar. Good for him.
The fourth-year shook his head with a grin, taking the comment about the death of his pet lightly. "He's not for potion ingredients. I don't think Pygmy Puffs are ever used for that. They are related to Puffskeins, but only Puffskein fur is used so we don't kill them, either."

" Ahh we call it the School Certificate Examinations " He replied making reference to his own schooling and the name used back in Australia. " I suppose you have something for the graduating years or what is it here, seventh years? " He smiled for a split second before continuing on. " Oh, we call it the Higher School Certificate Examinations. Higher because it's their final year of schooling. "
" I'll be willing to pay. " He replied with a smile on his face holding back boasting about his financial worth. He had always been told not to brag too much about income and financial status as it would often deter others from speaking to him. " Or I could pay you in food? " He said handing over another handful of foods while raising his eyebrows.
" There's not much of an age gap between us really. " He responded trying not to share too much of his personal life despite being the one to open the topic. He was glad the conversation pushed along and focused on the creature in front of them. " Oh so it's like a pet thing? We don't have these but we do have sheep. They're fluffy but non-magical. " He replied before looking over to Don. "You got any other pets?"

The wait for the Hogwarts Express, in the busy and surprisingly crowded London King's Cross Station on Platform 9¾, was a mixed affair for Nathaniel. He was excited to finally be attending the magic school, where he would delve into an education and learn everything humanly possible; but he was also alone, standing with his luggage, save for the butler that remained silent near him. The boy's parents were not there, they had been called to important business, and so Nathaniel had spent time simply observing others.
Many seemed very close. They embraced, talked and made promises, some with crying and others with big smiles.
That must have been nice.
"Neville," Nathaniel said suddenly, as he looked over to the suited man. "Do you think my parents might see me off next year?"
"Perhaps, young master," the elderly man said, his eyes sad. "Perhaps. For now, I believe they are quite proud of you. So chin up!"
"Yes, that sounds nice," the boy said with a nod. He smiled. "And you're right: chin up!"
The train arrived not long after, to which Nathaniel boarded and offered a nod and wave to Neville. The pair parted ways without word, the luggage to be handed over by the butler, giving Nathaniel the freedom to scour the train for a compartment of interest. He shuffled through the narrow corridors, he even bumped into a student, before he muttered an apology and continued to peer inside the small rooms.
"Maybe I shouldn't have worn the coat," Nathaniel murmured to himself, as he winced again, as another youth brushed by with food held in arms. "It would be a shame to see it besmirched... excuse me, sorry."
Nathaniel offered a forced smile as he passed yet more students -and students-to-be - that crowded the walking space; he clenched his fists, resisting the urge to elbow pointedly, and instead remained civil and polite, so as to avoid confrontation before technically starting school. Nonetheless, onward the short boy continued, as he continued to look for a compartment that seemed welcoming or comfortable...
