Busted! Calvin was deep in trouble for being caught taking more materials than he should have in his most recent. Potions class. On a normal situation this would have been just fine. However, the Professor was absent, the class was empty and Calvin may of sneaked in the dark to get what he needed. Facing punishment, Calvin was tasked with cleaning out the pond.
Coming from Australia, getting into muddy situations wasn’t a problem for him. It was the cold water that really bothered him. He was tasked with picking up broken quills that were thrown into the pond. “Stupid buggin pond. “ he cursed under his breath with every arm movement he took. He had no wand with him so he had to do things manually.

It was already bad enough that a professor had deemed it necessary to give her, Desiree Fontaine, detention, simply for being out of her designated dorm a mere half hour after curfew. Did they not know who she was? Such a thing would have never happened at Beauxbatons. Yet it only got worse as she found out what they would be doing: cleaning out the pond… by hand.
Desiree visibly shuddered at the sight of the murky water. It was bad enough she had to be anywhere near such filth, but did she really have to clean it without magic? She protested vociferously, after all they must have had staff to handle such matters, but the professor would not budge, even going as far as taking her wand as they left the two students to the task.
She stood at the edge of the water, silently, face scrunched in disgust, for a moment longer as her “detention buddy” climbed in. She could not understand how he did so with such ease. As if it was causing her great pain to do so, she lifted her skirts and slowly stepped into the pond, wincing as the water inched higher. Her poor designer robes were simply ruined. There was no saving them. She glanced over as the boy swore at the pond. “I agree completely,” she mumbled, finally joining him in the task of actual clean up. As horrific as it all was, the faster they got it done, the faster she could escape the watery hell hole and take a long, hot bath.

" Was it really bad to sneak out a few extra ingredients?" He mumbled as he continued to vent his frustrations at the world as if the world was out to get him. " This wouldn't be a problem back home!" He called out as he continued to let out his frustration and even a bit of anger as he took a splash of the dirty water on his lips. "YUCK!" He called out spitting out of the pond the dirty water. He was about to continue letting his frustrations out when he heard a voice speak to him.
" Ahh!" He called out turning around quickly. In return, this caused him to miss his stepping and end up landing bum flat and neck deep in dirty water. " Oh hey. " He finally added with a smile on his face. " What bring you to these parts of the school?" He said being as charming as ever as he began noticing her standing in the same dirty pond. " Desiree right?" he said with a smile.

Desiree looked at Calvin incredulously, a laugh pulling at her lips. Had he forgotten she was there in his musings? The little acrobatic show was definitely amusing, and she was struggling to keep her composure so as not to insult her co-cleaner. After all, they needed to work together to get out of there as quickly as possible. “I believe the same reason as you? Detention?” She replied with a hint of sarcasm in her tone, knowing full well she was correct in her assumption. “Unless you simply enjoy spending your free time in the mud.” She added with a smirk.
He was charming, she would give him that. Even when covered in muddy water he was able to appear calm, cool, and collected, as if he met people in such situations all the time. “Oui, Desiree Fontaine,” she made sure to emphasize her last name, as if it would mean anything to him. “Pleased to make your acquaintance, in spite of the circumstance.” She held her hand out to him, partly as a gesture of greeting but also to help the poor lad up on his feet. “You are one of the champions from Australia, correct? Pardonnez-moi, I am not very good with the names.” In reality she had not made much of an effort to learn the other champions’ names, but he did not need to know that.

“ God she’s beautiful.” Calvin whispered letting his intrusive words in his mind come to life as he whispered quietly. Something about the French that really appealed to It wasn't exactly the most romantic or heroic ways to meet such a beautiful woman but Cavin being Calvin, just played along. Slowly making his way out of the muddy water, he reached down and felt something in his pocket.
A smile appeared on his face as he managed to somehow pickup. A Quill that was either pink or brown or some form of weird colour that wasn’t normal. It was as romantic as he could get given he didn’t have a wand nor was he great at wandless magic. A laugh rolled out of his mouth as he handed over the quill. “ Mud baths are good for my complexion. It takes a lot to look this handsome. “ He said in a joking and very obvious sarcastic tone.
“ Oh that’s cool “ He replied nodding his head. “ Like as in Fountain ?” He asked not sure how to actually re-pronounce her name. “ No offence, but that’s a cool name anyway. “ He added in another charming smile as he wiped his dirty hands on his dirty wet, and muddy clothes. “ Pleasure to meet you, I’m Calvin. St.Augistine. “ She probably already knew that considering they were competing whilst grabbing her hand and shook it while accepting her gesture of support.

Desiree smirked at his, slightly conceited, joke, accepting the quill he handed to her. She examined it for a moment, debating whether she was meant to throw it away with the other quills, or keep it as a kind gesture. The colouring was rather unique, she had to admit. She decided to gently place it on the edge of the pond in a compromise of sorts, still unsure of Calvin’s intentions.
“You may need another dip then,” she replied in kind. “I think you missed a spot right… there.” She made it as if she was examining his face very carefully, before smearing a glob of mud on his cheek on her last word, smiling mischievously at him before returning to their work. While she was enjoying the company, she still had no intention of remaining in the pond longer than she had to.
Desiree winced at his pronunciation of her last name, his anglicised way of saying it sounding quite crude to her ears. Despite this she simply nodded. “Oui, Fontaine,” she repeated, hoping maybe this time he would get the pronunciation. “Merci. My family name is quite well known within the French wizard community, although I suppose not so much in Australia.” She spoke with an air of superiority as she mentioned this, always enjoying a chance to brag of her superior lineage.
She was quite proud of being a Fontaine, a member of La Societe, part of the elite French society, at least within the wizarding world. When it came to Calvin, on the other hand, she wasn't sure exactly where he stood in the social classes. He neglected to mention his last name when he introduced himself, and she did not know much about St Augustine or the caliber of wizards in Australia. His vernacular was definitely odd, causing Desiree to raise her eyebrows in confusion. “I’m sorry, what?” She asked, feeling quite lost. “A crooked day?” She felt her English was quite good, but perhaps she was not as fluent as she believed since she had not a clue what he meant.

Well this was an interesting way to flirt with someone and one that Calvin can brag about to the other friends back home in Sydney. Only a select few were able to attend these games given the restrictions around it. No first year would be able to enter their name so what purpose was there to be here let alone the plane tickets alone costing a heap to get here.
Calvin smiled showing his pearly white teeth as he watched Desiree accept his broken quill. It was a weird way of introduction and watching her put the Quill to the side was somewhat hilarious. " You're welcome to bin it if you like. " He said with a smile on his face. " Or you can keep it as a friendship token. Just make sure to clean it. " He said as he took a step forward toward her.
"Actually, I think one mud bath a week would be enough for this - " She caught Calvin by surprise when she placed a smear of the mud on his face. " Wow mate. " He said placing his hand to where her fingers touched his face. " Is this how you greet all handsome men then? " He joked with a cunning smile raising an eyebrow followed by the wink of his right eye. Again, interesting way to flirt.
" Ahh.... " He replied nodding his head finally connecting a few thoughts in his mind. " So you're a socialite then? " He had to both ask and confirm his thoughts. Calvin hailed from a well known Australian blood line however he didn't care too much for it. He was too focused on enjoying life to worry about all that kind of stuff. " Well, Madam Fountain. It's a pleasure to meet you. " He said bowing his head slightly out of respect as if he were talking to some royalty.
" Cracka of a day? " He replied with a laugh. " It's an expression. " He said as he walked to the pond's edge and popped himself out of the dirty and muddy water. He turned around as he held his arm out. " An elegant and beautiful lady like you shouldn't be in this dirty pond. " He said with a charming smile. " Now, let me help you out. "

Desiree smirked at his question. He was definitely very sure of himself and his attractiveness, having brought it up twice thus far in conversation. She would not deny he was handsome, although she did enjoy the playful banter back and forth. She shrugged, “Perhaps, I’ll let you know when I meet one.” She teased with an impish smile, hoping he wouldn’t take offense to the joke.
A socialite… she did not think she had heard that term used to describe her before, but it seemed to fit. “Oui, I suppose so,” she acquiesced, finding she enjoyed the descriptor. It had an air of sophistication about it. Desiree laughed at his formal greeting, scrunching her nose a bit at the use of the word Madam. “Oh please, I am not nearly old enough to be considered a Madam yet.” She decided to play along to his little charade, lifting her skirts and curtsying ever so slightly in greeting. It was much harder, and probably ridiculous to behold, in knee high water, but Desiree did her best to maintain a proper form even in such circumstances. “C’est un plaisir de faire votre connaissance, Calvin.” In spite of the ridiculous circumstances, Desiree did actually mean that. He was an amusing character to be sure, and was making the detention somewhat bearable.
“Cracka of a day?” She repeated the saying slowly, the words sounding odd when said in her french accent. “What does it mean?” She had never heard that expression before during her travels in the UK, so perhaps it was an Australian saying. Her musings were cut short, however, as Calvin offered her his arm to help her out of the pond. Her cheeks flushed a little as she gently grabbed hold and joined him out of the pond. “Oh-um-merci,” she quickly sputtered out, feeling a smidge flustered.
She was generally quite confident, there was no doubt about that, but she had very little experience in the romance department. Sure other boys had flirted with her in the past, and she enjoyed the back and forth, but this was different somehow. Calvin was very charming and had this natural ease about him, like compliments came as easy to him as breathing. It didn’t feel as fake coming from him as it did with others, and Desiree didn’t quite know how to respond.
Struggling to find something to say, she busied herself with straightening out her robes, trying to brush some of the dirt from them as if there was any hope left in saving them. “Should we not finish cleaning the pond?” She asked, hoping to regain some control of the situation. “If this is the Italians' idea of a normal detention, I would hate to see what they do to students who skip a detention.” She did not like the idea of returning to the pond, and despite all odds, hoped Calvin had some sort of plan up his sleeve to get them out of it, but she also was not willing to get another detention due to him, no matter how suave he may be.

He had read in his history books and his defence against the dark arts textbooks that some people were so beautiful that they often had a hidden ability. He wondered if Desiree was also one of those people. He held back his inner thoughts as he pondered the question if she was a Veela. Instead, he smiled at her in the most charming way possible. Considering it was quite difficult to actually be charming seeing as they were in a dirty and cold pond. " You don't need to look any further. I'm right here. " He said with a cheeky smile.
" If I can't call you Maddam can I at least call you mine?" He asked boldly with a wink of his right eye. Normally, this would of been rather cringe worthy however, Calvin had a skill of being flirty but not over the top that it was overwhelmingly cringe. " C'est un plashir de fair vor consininence to you too. " He repeated in the worst yet charming possible way. Calvin only assumed this was some form of greeting or some kind of spell that he was just placed under. The two exchanged formal gestures and Calvin proceeded to laugh about it as he sat on the edge of the pond.
" Not the most romantic of days but still a cracka of a day. " He replied noting what Desiree had just said. " It means it's a nice day despite what we're doing. " He said as he nodded softly. " It's an Australian slang used when you're in something rough but the day is beautiful. " There was something so unique about the Australian slang that just made sense to some extent. " Wow, such soft hands. A lady with hands this delicate shouldn't be anywhere near a pond. " He genuinely noticed just how soft her hands were and it was interesting to see just how well manicured her nails were too not that it was something he actively sought out.
" Oh right, the pond." He replied letting go of her hand as he turned his direction over to the pong which still had multiple quills in it. " I kinda don't have my wand on me..." He said as he shrugged his shoulders. He wanted to finish the task quickly so that he could focus on other things and more important things like how he was having a conversation with Desiree. " Hmm... I'll give this a try but don't tell anyone. " He said as he waved his hand and verbally saying a spell. "Accio Quills." A swift hand movement and only a select few quills summoned toward his hand. He wasn't great at wandless magic and he was surprised this even worked considering he didn't actively practise wandless magic. "This is kinda fun, wanna join?" He asked hoping Desiree wouldn't look down on wandless magic or his so called attempt at it.

You don’t need to look any further. I’m right here.
Desiree had a retort ready, on the edge of her lips, a sly smirk already playing on her lips, when he caught her off guard, asking if he could call her his. She was taken aback by his boldness. Not in a negative way, she simply did not expect somebody to be so upfront, particularly so soon after meeting. Her eyes widened a bit and her smirk faltered, before she quickly recomposed herself, hoping her surprise had not been evident on her face. “We barely know each other,” she replied with a laugh. “What makes you think you can claim me so easily?”
She tried to play off the whole thing as a joke, which she was sure it was, yet she didn’t like the way it made her feel. There was this weird feeling in the pit of her stomach. Did she like him? No, she couldn’t. He wasn’t the type of man for her. She had standards, expectations. No, this was just a bit of fun flirtation, nothing more. It couldn’t be.
Her more serious thoughts were pushed from her mind when Calvin attempted to repeat what she had said, causing her to burst out laughing. It was an adorable attempt, but the pronunciation and the accent were abysmal. If he hadn’t been so charming, she might have said he was butchering such a beautiful language; but coming from him, it just sounded sweet.
Perhaps she would have to teach him a bit more about her language, like he was as he explained the odd saying to her. She nodded in understanding. It sounded odd, and perhaps a bit colloquial, but it was definitely accurate. “In that case, I agree. It is a cracka of a day,” she repeated the saying again slowly, trying not to mess up the pronunciation, giggling a bit at how odd it sounded when said with her accent.
Desiree had not expected Calvin to hold on to her hand for so long after he had helped her out of the pond, almost forgetting he was still holding it until he commented on how soft they were. A chill ran up her arm as he seemed to examine it so carefully, and then just like that he dropped it and returned his attention to their actual task for that day: cleaning the pond. “Neither do I,” she replied to his musings regarding his wand. Blasted professors and their manual labour detentions. If they had access to magic, why not use it? What were they, muggles?
She watched as Calvin attempted wandless magic, actually succeeding in retrieving a few of the quills. Wandless magic was not something taught at Beauxbatons, but she knew other schools specialized in the subject. “I suppose I could give it a try.” Desiree moved a bit closer to the pond and waved her hand over the water. “Accio quills.” Only two quills came bobbing up to the surface, and she threw them to the side with the others, immediately trying again.
She was nothing if not competitive, and she wanted to prove herself a competent witch, particularly in front of Calvin. Not that she cared what he thought! No, of course not, that would be silly. It was just that he was her competition in the tournament and she didn’t want him to think of her as weak. Yes, of course, that was why… surely…

" Neither a princess or a beautiful queen like yourself can be claimed. " He said still running on smooth antics to try and smooth talk Desiree into his friendship. He giggled a bit when he listed to what Desiree had to say. " We may barely know each other but I think we've established that you're you're the queen and I am your prince charming. Or, if you like, I'll be the prince and you'll be the princess it's a love story don't you agree? " He said smiling once again revealing his pearly white teeth with every smile. It was here he wondered if Desiree preferred a more responsibility driven role like a Queen or a less responsibility role of that of a princess.
Seeing and hearing Desiree laugh was one of the most beautiful things he had witnessed. He smiled as his eyes stared at Desiree's teeth being exposed with every burst of laughter that rolled out of her mouth. Even her laugh sounded elegant. There was this elegance about this woman that truly put Calvin in awe. Perhaps the Aussie farmer boy was so used to the rough people that lived near him that he wasn't too exposed to the finer things in life. " Keep laughing. You have a beautiful smile. "
"Crack-ah" He said as he whispered what Desiree said laughing and loving the little French twang she had on it. It was interesting to hear it with a French twang. " You know the French accent makes everything sound beautiful. I'd love to hear you say I'm yours in French. " He added bringing once again, his unique and smooth charm to what he was saying. He wondered if he was coming off too strong or if Desiree actually enjoyed the little flirtatious game the two were playing.
Examining how soft her hands were may of caught Desiree by surprise as their focus turned back to what they were here for in the first place. " Well, it's a lot better than my attempt at the spell. " He valued her attempts as summoning the quills out of the pond albet it be only two however, she still made an attempt. " I think that's good enough. " He replied looking into the pond and only noticing one, two or maybe three quills left over.
Truth be told, it looked like the pond was almost empty after noticing Desiree's second attempt. It seemed like the girl had a nature for being competitive and Calvin was all for that. " Well, with the pond clean, how bout we continue getting to know each other?" He asked as he made his way to his little bag pack on the side of the pond. He knew things were going to get messy so he brought a change of clothes. " Don't look." He said with a cheeky smile as he removed his wet and cold shirt to reveal his toned body before putting on a fresh shirt. " I've got a jacket here if you want it?" He asked handing over a simple black jumper.

A Queen. Desiree definitely didn’t mind being called a Queen. It commanded the status and respect she felt she deserved, despite feeling a bit antiquated. Calvin seemed quite enamored with the idea, flashing his brilliant smile as he declared them a love story. The idea was simply ridiculous in Desiree’s mind, but she did like seeing him smile. He had such a gorgeous smile. “So we are in a fairytale, is that it? Seems a bit wet and muddy for the start of a fairytale,” Desiree stated, motioning to their current surroundings. “And I apologize, but if I were a Queen, I don’t think I could settle for anything less than a King.” She gave him a teasing look as she said this, raising her eyebrows as if challenging him to prove himself. The whole conversation was silly, and Desiree found herself enjoying it all in spite of herself.
“Merci.” She smiled at his compliment as her laughter subsided. “Perhaps if you tell a good joke, I will laugh some more. Or you can try and speak French again,” she teased with a smirk, hoping she wouldn’t insult him. At least he hadn’t been offended at her laughter, which was a good sign. She was not fully surprised to hear that he enjoyed her French accent. Desiree had learned long ago that many considered the French language, and its accent, to sound romantic. She did not deny that it was a beautiful language, although she did feel that some of these sentiments were a bit over exaggerated.
Desiree narrowed her eyes a bit as Calvin once again made a claim on her, cocking her head slightly as if it would help her better understand his motivation. She couldn’t quite tell if this was all just a game for Calvin, or if there was some truth to his flirtatious comments. Not that anything could happen between them. She was just curious. She didn’t want to lead him on after all. “What is your need to possess me? Afraid I’ll slip away?” Desiree asked coyly, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “I will make you a deal. I will say it, but only if I can properly teach you some French first.” If she was to make such a statement, she definitely wanted something in return, and the opportunity to hear more of Calvin speaking French was too irresistible to resist.
Finally, after much distraction, the pair managed to clean up enough of the quills to declare the task complete. Desiree sighed in relief. The dirty work was done, she could return to her dorm for a long hot bath and a change of clothes. Calvin, it seemed, had other ideas, suggesting they stay a bit longer and get to know each other. The idea was definitely tempting, and she did have to wait for the professor to return with her wand, so she decided it was worth dealing with some discomfort for a bit longer.
“I suppose we could,” she conceded, her decision quickly rewarded with the sight of Calvin shirtless. While he said not to look, the speed at which he removed the piece of clothing did not give Desiree much time to avert her eyes, not that she would have wanted to. She stared for a moment longer before turning away to give him his requested privacy, cheeks turning the slightest shade of pink. Damn. If she thought he was handsome before, that thought was only amplified now. She only turned when she heard him addressing her once more, handing over a black jacket for her to use. She took it with a smile, “Merci,” and quickly put it on over her wet clothes. She was still uncomfortable, her robes sticking to her oddly, but the warmth definitely helped make it a bit more bearable. “So, what would you like to know?”

" Fairy tale? " He repeated back with a curious look on his face. Australia didn't have fairies so he only assumed she was talking about the actual creature. " Did you see a fairy? I didn't know fairies had tails. " The confused Australian boy began to look around if there was actually a fairy within their vicinity which would of been a rather unique experience. " Well, I can fix that for you. " He reached into his bag once again and took out a change of clothes. Some baggy warm pants and a clean shirt. " This might be a bit more comfortable than the wet clothes and you can wear it under the jacket. " " Well you can be the Queen and I can be your King if you want? " He shrugged his shoulders as he fluffed his eye lashes open and close.
" Oh is that so? " He replied with a smile on his face. "You don't find my jokes funny? " Calvin found himself to be a funny guy without even trying. Perhaps it was his so called adorable clumsiness that made him stand out amongst the crowd. But it seemed that his attempt at French was what tickled her fancy and he knew this was one way closer to getting to know Desiree. Even if it was just a moment in time. " Ahh well I can speak French for you but you have to teach me. " He smiled softly when he felt a little flutter in his chest. Butterflies. Odd place to have them, most people had them in their stomach but for some reason Calvin was having it in his stomach.
" I wouldn't never claim you. " He responded with a shrug of his shoulders. " But I would be happy if you chose to keep my interest in you on a mutual basis. " It was a rather formal response and he didn't know if Desiree would understand what he was trying to share. " But hey, let's be friends. We're young and we're reckless right? " He said with a smile on his face. " Deal. You teach, I repeat in exchange I might give you a good nights kiss on the cheek. " He played it off so smoothly like it was some form of reward for learning French from her.
" I saw that. " He said with a cheeky smile on his face. " Did you enjoy the peep show. " He joked before taking a few steps forward. " You up for a little walk in the moonlight? Could be romantic if you think about it. " By now, his attempts at romance almost felt so normal that it almost came across natural. " Hmm, Good question. " Where would he begin? " Do you have any siblings? " It was a safe option to start with,

Desiree laughed as Calvin looked around for a fairy, convinced he was simply doing it as a joke, until she realized by his tone that he actually may not have understood what she said. “Non non, a fairytale, like ‘once upon a time’? Stories of princes and princesses told to children?” She tried to explain the concept, confused as to why he would not know about fairytales. Were they not a thing in Australia? It seemed there was a lot she didn’t know about the country and its people.
She grabbed the clothes that Calvin handed to her and gave them a once over. They were not the designer quality clothes she usually wore, but it would probably be more comfortable than her current attire. “Merci. Now turn around so I know you are not watching.” She motioned for him to turn, and only when she was certain he was no longer looking did she begin taking off her wet clothes, first pulling her shirt over her head, then stepping out of her skirt. It was definitely not the best attire for the task they had been given, but how was Desiree supposed to know she’d be waist high in a pond that day? The air was quite a bit colder in her current state of undress, causing her to start shivering, so she quickly pulled on the clothes Calvin had given her, finishing it off with his jacket. The clothes were baggy on her, but they fit for the most part, and she definitely felt warmer as a result.
She felt a bit self-conscious that she was not meeting her own appearance expectations, but she tried to make the look work for her. Of course even baggy clothes didn’t seem to deter Calvin. “We’ll see how things go, I suppose,” Desiree responded to his comment about him being her King, and her his Queen. “We can start with being friends, and perhaps move on to royalty in time.” She dangled the carrot ever so slightly in front of him, flashing him a flirtatious smile, ignoring the fact that she was warming up to the idea as well.
“I tease, you are very funny Calvin,” she reassured him with a small laugh. “I do not know anybody else who could make me laugh while standing in a cold, dirty pond.” That was true. Such an unpleasant task had actually become quite fun. Of course she would have preferred to have had this meeting in another situation, but perhaps it would have lost some of its charm otherwise. She was glad that he too wanted to start with friendship, although she had a feeling that would not satisfy him for long. He was quite persistent after all.
This was further proven by his offer of a kiss after a French lesson. “If you would like to truly embrace French culture, it should be two or three kisses. That is how we greet each other in France.” Desiree said this in a matter of fact way, trying to hide the fact that her cheeks warmed at the idea of participating in such a greeting with Calvin. She simply couldn’t resist his charms, or his good looks. Her cheeks flushed even more when Calvin caught her watching as he changed, causing her to feel a bit flustered. She looked away from his gaze for a moment. “I apologize, I should not have.”
She felt a bit embarrassed by his implications, glad for a change of subject and the opportunity to move around a bit. Desiree nodded at his idea, beginning to walk down one of the paths away from the pond, waiting for Calvin to fall into step with her. “I have one younger brother, un petit frère,” she repeated in French, not forgetting their little deal to teach him French. “You would know him, he is the other Beauxbatons champion, Henri.” She tried not to let slip how upset she was about that fact. While she cared about her brother, she was not a fan of sharing the spotlight; but she didn’t want Calvin to know that. “What is your family like?”

Calvin felt like the biggest idiot and it was highly evident on his facial expression as his lips went slightly pale and then his cheeks were glowing a bright tomato red. " Oh.... Right. " Was all the sounds he could manage to produce without producing actual vomit. He looked as if he were going to be sick. " I thought... you meant.. like y'know... " He began to ramble as he stared down at his own shoes like a little kid that was getting into trouble. Rather adorable if anything. " Like real fairies. " Australia didn't home any fairies so it would of been a rare sight to behold if Calvin had seen one. He if anything, felt also a little upset that there weren't any real fairies to add onto his embarrassment,
" Do I have to turn around? " He joked as he first covered his eyes with his hands and then peeped through as a joke. Of course he knew to respect a person's privacy especially when they were at their most delicate getting changed and all. " Oh, you're actually changing. " he responded suddenly shocked as the notion of the pale lips and red cheeks continued on his face as he physically turned around to face back into the cold pond before them. " I wonder why they even throw their Quills in here in the first place? I heard numerous thing. " He began to state as he waited for Desiree to change. " They say it's bad luck to keep a quill used after a bad exam so they break the quill tip off. I've also heard that they throw out their old quills cos they're just lazy. "
" Can I turn now?" He responded to Desiree upon hearing her speak again as he slowly turned with his hands still covering his face. His lips now, more pale than before. His cheeks still flush red. Was he getting sick? " Oh wow. " He said as he managed to gain his senses to look at Desiree in some big clothes. " You know what, you actually look good in my clothes. Keep them. Keep them as a friendship thing. But don't expect me to fit into your clothes cos that ain't gonna happen with these biceps." He said as he raised his eyebrows up and down furiously with a wink of the right eye. Even when feeling sick, Calvin had a natural attitude to being charming.
" I can make you do a lot of things too." He whispered as he took a step closer as he grinned a seductive and cheeky smile. " Take that in whatever way you want. I just don't like being teased. So let's work on this friendship then? " Of course, things were starting to heat up. Not just the chemistry between them but the sudden temperature increase in Calvin's body was concerning. He had only been in the pond for a short time so he couldn't of possibly gotten sick so quickly. " However, I'm happy to build our friendship into a relationship if that's what you're saying. " He took a gulp as he placed his arms around his body.
" So you're gonna teach me French or you gonna teach me how to French kiss? " He asked winking his right eye again. By now, he had winked his right eye multiple times that it almost looked as if he was twitching. " Well if that's the case. I can do one of those things and speaking French isn't the correct answer either. " It was evident that speaking French wasn't his thing or speciality. He had only ever seen French shows on muggle TV as well as listening to Moulin Rouge. That was his only exposure to the language. Excluding French onion soup too.
" You can look but you can't touch. " He said with a cheeky grin before he took a gasp and then followed through was the rest of his sentence. " No wait. You can touch! You can touch !" He joked as he laughed a little which caused his stomach in turn to gurgle a bit. By a bit of course he meant a rather loud and abrupt sound. He didn't need to go bathroom but his stomach did feel a little uneasy. " Umm, no need to apologise. We're friends anyway. " He said hoping to help cool down the French princess before her.
" Wait, your brother is Henri? " He replied rather shocked as he coughed a little taking a gasp of air yet again. His lips now were even more pale than before. it almost looked like paper. His skin had started to grow grey too. " So that's why he's also a beautiful person. He's your sibling. " He had to give it to the French boy. he was a beautiful breed. " My family? " He said as he stopped walking for a second as he placed his hand on his head. " I'm feeling a little dizzy. " He replied as he took another gasp.
Within seconds, Calvin found himself falling to the Earth face first into the wet dirt before them. How did he suddenly start feeling sick? Did the French Champion curse him? His eyesight saw things in doubles and whilst he was happy to see Desiree twice, he knew this wasn't normal. " I think I drank a bit too much of that pond water. " He said as he curled up and closed his eyes trying to regain his bearings.
