thalia burke
Birthday: August 21, 2013
Blood Status: Pureblood
Location of Residence: London, United Kingdom
School: Hogwarts
House: Future Slytherin
Appearance:
Three Characteristics You Think You Are: Affable, intelligent, resourceful
Three Characteristics Others Think You Are: Promising, competitive, entitled
Three Random Facts:
• She has a plan to make her mother buy her a cat "so she would be sure she'll have at least one friend at Hogwarts". Thalia, in fact, doesn't doubt she'll make many friends but she's wanted a cat for a long time and believes this emotional attack will work on her parents.
• Ever since she was a toddler, whenever she got frustrated at something or someone, the offending object/person would be sent flying across the room - her accidental magic generally comes out in what resembles the Knockback Jinx.
• Thalia will discover she has an incredible talent for dueling (offensive magic) when she gets a chance to try out some attack spells. They will come naturally to her, requiring very little practice to be mastered and executed powerfully. She will be considered by most to have the makings of a professional duelist, and take pride in it.
Aspirations:
• To get top grades in every subject.
• To explore Hogwarts and learn its secrets.
• To become the very best at something.
Opinion:
• Quidditch
It looks like an interesting enough game. Thalia had a toy broom when she was a small child and has flown her father's broomstick under supervision. She believes that if she ever decides to join the Slytherin team (she knows she'll be in Slytherin), she'd be accepted immediately.
• Blood Purity
It's not really that important what blood status each person has, although it's still risky to let so many Muggleborns know about the wizarding world. They want to change a lot of the traditional values and make the magical world function according to the rules of the Muggle world, which just can't work. The highest offices should be reserved for those who are born into the magical world and grew up in it, so they don't try to tear down the wizarding society's foundations without even properly understanding them.
• Magic
The most amazing thing there is, hands down. If only she was allowed to have a wand! It's not like she would break the Statute of Secrecy by casting some spells within their household; some pureblood children use magic at home and the Ministry doesn't find out!
• The Sorting Hat
Needs to be found. Why hasn't it yet? Why aren't squads of Aurors looking for it? Thalia hopes it will be returned to Hogwarts so she could be sorted by the hat, like her parents were.
• Gobstones
Too stinky to be fun. Also, she doesn't know of a single cool person who plays them.

Roleplay Example:
The curse Niklas tried out first worked splendidly, which made Maeve feel proud for some reason. She was completely certain that she was not teacher material - working with little kids sounded like a terrible career choice... but perhaps instructing older students in dueling wasn't too bad. Not that it would be anything other than a fallback option if she failed at all her more glamorous plans.
With the second attempted spell failing, those musings were cut short. The redhead suppressed a sigh as she stepped forward, an optimistic smile on her lips. "You did amazing with the Fur Curse," she complimented, unwilling to begin with criticism. "As for the Antler Jinx, your pronunciation was just a bit off. It's Anteoculatia. An-tee-oh-kyoo-LAY-chee-ah. And you reversed the wand movement - the spiral comes at the end, not the start. Imagine you're drawing a crude pictogram of an antler, starting from the root rather than the top. It also helps to remember that, usually, the pace of the movement is set so that it starts with the first syllable of the incantation and ends with the last one. Matching it requires some practice. Watch me."
She raised her wand again, aiming for a dummy further away and trying to stand so Niklas could see her hand clearly. "Anteoculatia!" The target became adorned with a pair of antlers. Hopefully, the boy had gained something from this demonstration. Although Maeve tried to pronounce and motion clearly, she couldn't perform the spell too slowly without compromising it. It was probably best for him to observe the required tempo anyway. "Alright, care to try again?"
