term change Exams are over. If you didn't pass, make sure to buy a year up from Gringotts before September IC time is over (aka about 3.5 weeks from now). Also, have patience while we get through all of our term change duties. There's a lot. You'll have all your buttons soon. (:

hogwarts theatre production It's posted! All audience and performers can post in it so please do. (:

start of term The start of term - September 2016 - will be on August 20th. Professors can post lessons starting that time (not before) and students can go back to Hogwarts. (:

Also, we will be having a Sorting Ceremony roleplayed out as we have so many first years! <3 But it probably won't be posted right on that day as it's gonna be a big one. Might take me a second, lol.

club leaders We have lots of people in clubs, but no one to host meetings. =o Well, we have 3 clubs with leaders. But there are 16 more with enough members to have a leader, so why not sign up if you're interested?

CLUB-LEADER SIGN-UPS

Keep in mind that we prefer club meetings where something actually happens. This may seem obvious, but ones where it's just everyone arriving and not doing anything aren't any fun. That's why we have 'Idea for Meeting' in the app now so we know you have an idea of something to do. But you can totally just post a meeting about that very idea you put in the app. You don't have to come up with something different for the actual meeting. (:

exams next term If you're new, you should probably know that we're always evolving and growing. You might not have been around long enough to see it. But now you will. Exams will change next term once more.

Exam = 75% of final grade
Classes = 25% of final grade
And class posts only count until the end of May (you can still post there after, it just won't count towards your grade).

So it's pretty much the same except the % that was for exam roleplay is put into the exam.

-- The exam roleplay will go back to being an option in case you didn't pass. It will give you +25% if you complete it.
-- As long as you got 67% on the exam, class posts won't be necessary. But you also can't get above an A without class posts.
-- Full class participation will still increase your exam grade. (:
-- The class post cut-off is two fold: 1) There were a lot of last minute entrances to classes that were probably annoying to write over and over and also didn't really contribute to any story for yourself or others in the thread. 2) It'll be far less time consuming for me. But you guys still have the whole term to participate, remember. (: And classes are a great way to roleplay with other students and get a grade at the same time. <3

owls & newts next term We used to roleplay them out but it was terribly time consuming for me to be reading all of the posts and deciding grades for them. I've wanted to bring them back for a while, but with a different system that wouldn't be all consuming for me, of course.

So now we have a trial version. It may change or go away next term, depending on how things go. So at the end of term, we will be roleplaying out OWLs & NEWTs - for only fifth and seventh years of course.

You will have a masterlist of options you can do. Ex. For Charms, there will be a list of spells the examiner would ask and then you just roleplay doing one of them for the examiner.

There are also criteria so you can't just post your character being perfect at everything and get all O's (that was a big problem last time).

You can check out the information in the OWLs/NEWTs board (sub-board in the Great Hall).

But keep in mind, this is like 5 real months from now. Just keeping you all informed early. <3

associate professors It's a brand new thing for Hogwarts! Make sure to read the thread about it and/or the Daily Prophet article too. Job changes to Associate Professor will not be accepted via PM so you will be required to post in the Associate Professor thread. But if you want to make a new character who is an Associate Professor, that's okay too. Just put it in the app like normal. (:
