We have a new system for doing this which depends on a few factors but you can still get a pretty good job if you don't attend classes. If you don't end up with enough points for the job you want for your character, you can have them do a regular job that's attainable for a little bit while they upgrade at Rutherford. And they wouldn't have to sign up for every class there, just the ones they want to upgrade.
Remember that Rutherford now has college courses!
Which can actually give you a leg up if you are pursuing something that usually has an internship or just extra knowledge! <3
Onto the NEWTs:
This new system is point based. You can earn points for doing certain things. Only actions in your last year count unless you got a Top Student in a previous year. Despite us having a points system, still be realistic. No one would have all or almost all O's unless that fits in with their personality/history. And that would be a really extreme case. Not even Hermione got all O's.
Keep in mind that you can only claim NEWTs for classes that your character signed up for. If you don't want them to pass one of them, that's a good opportunity to gain some points to put towards other classes. (:
If you're claiming an O based on personality, it needs to really be a big thing about their character. Even if you put it on the character application that they love Charms, for instance, if you never mention that anywhere in roleplay, it's clearly not something they're super gifted at or love so it wouldn't count for this. Also, this only counts for a subject they are particularly gifted at. 'Generally intelligent' is not acceptable. If you wish to claim this, say so in your reply and give a valid reason.
