july news
keeping you up to date
quidditch Quidditch Championship is coming soon in May. (: Remember that audience can post watching there too and it actually helps the game progress faster. <3 Not like we needed much help last time. It was probably the fastest long game ever. =o
theatre production The production will take place in June! How it works is the performers will be posting in a particular colour [I'll let them know what this is closer to it] and then the audience can post watching and whispering about it [hopefully not louder than that, lol]. It'll be improvised as we write [like roleplaying!], so other than what characters there are, there's no telling what the plot will be.
exam roleplay I know there have been a lot of questions about what this 25% entails in the final grade of your students. Starting in June [threads before then won't count], you can post your 'exam roleplay' and then reply to a designated thread with the link.
There will be at least one general thread if you don't want to add another whole roleplaying thread to your list of threads. For example, it might be the Charms practical, where your post just has to be doing your Charms practical exam or waiting outside in the corridor for your turn [nerves, much?].
Or, during that time, you can just roleplay something about the exams [studying, practicing for your practical, or even doing one of the written or another practical exam that's not one of the general ones posted].
character creation change We reinstated the previous rule of having to wait 1 week (7 days) between character creations if you have 10+ characters. It's getting impossible to really show consistency with activity [and ability to keep up with them] when there's so many in a short time. Let your current ones develop a bit first. (:
tb is inclusive It's great that we've become so active and have so many new members, but unfortunately sometimes with activity comes cliquey behaviour. This is just a reminder that we are an inclusive site [it's even in the Rules and isn't new] and that if you have 20+ threads, you shouldn't be having more than 50% of them with only 1-3 people and definitely shouldn't have more than 15 threads with the same writer.
We have 40+ members here right now so there's no excuse for this. There's no shortage of people to roleplay with. I know that sometimes you can find a writer you really like to write with and that's great. (: But I guarantee there are others here for you too.
If being in 50 threads with a few people and ignoring everyone else is what you want to do here, then unfortunately TB might not be the site for you. Not that we want everyone to leave, but this behaviour definitely affects more than just you - it affects the site and everyone in a negative way and makes people feel ignored, disliked, uncomfortable... Just a whole lot of negative feelings that we don't want anyone to feel.
So this is a notice that in 2 weeks, if there's anyone doing this, then action will be taken. But I hope it won't come to that. I know everyone here are good people and can work at being more inclusive. <3
