A question about squibs. I found on some sites that they cannot cast magic because they are not magical but then i found one which said that they can cast simple spells ?
I wanted to know how squibs work on this site , can they cast simple spells or not ? and maybe a little more information ?
( Because maybe i want to start a new character as a squib but i want to know more about them )
- Muggles do not have magical powers. - There are certain enchantments in the world to ward off muggles [places like Hogwarts and Quidditch Stadiums]. - Muggles, as a whole, do not know about the magical world [except for the muggles who have family who are muggleborns].
SQUIB
- Squibs are the same as muggles, except they do know about the wizarding world because they were born into a magical family. - Some squibs try lessons and enchantments to be able to learn magic, but most do not work.
So they can try to learn magic but does that mean a squib who wants to needs to go to Hogwarts ? And what kind of magic , like small spells or big spells for wizards and witches ?
A squib can not goto Hogwarts because they are not magical. They just know about magic. They can have jobs in the magical world that require them to not use magic. Like Filch, he was the caretaker at Hogwarts and he was a squib. Magic wont work if a squib tries it. That means that they can try things to get them to be able do magic. Like the QuirkSpell that is talked about that Filch was trying to use. But that doesn't work. If you want a spell to work to get them to be able to be able to have magic you would have to ask ELIZA MARIE CUNNINGHAM

Yep, as stated in the thread, they're the exact same as muggles (aka they have no magical abilities whatsoever). But they do have knowledge of the wizarding world because they come from magical families. Also, a good way to understand it is that they're the opposite of muggleborns. (:
The thing that Filch did really was just a scam for money. Like a really bad infomercial, lol.
