ABSENCE
Sorry I've been away, everyone. I really had to focus on real life (career, 4 jobs, college application - and TB was stressful to the point of hindering my career. While I've had this place for 7 years, I've been dancing for 22, so... priorities).

The Job Sign-Ups thread will be up soon and will last for the duration of September. After that, PM me.
NEW TERM
It's now the new term. Professors are free to post lessons. Class sign-ups will be up soon.
UPCOMING EVENTS

WE ARE AU, BUT...
We're not really AU. Not in the sense of how most sites are AU. For us, AU means the addition of original characters and what plot changes that may make. We are still very strictly canon with the events up until 1991 and very strictly canon with the canon world that Rowling has created (creatures, laws of magic, ways spells and magic work, etc.).
And to keep continuity, plot changes cannot be inserted into the past, even if it's after 1991 and before now. There are many members and characters who have been on the site for years and it would be quite strange for them to suddenly have their backstories changed on them. Pretty much, whatever happened on the site happened. No changing the past or erasing things that have happened on the site. All we can do is focus on the future.
In no way are we trying to hinder your creativity with this, but instead are keeping a strong base for this roleplay to be. Creativity in your characters, plots, threads and stories are obviously very encouraged and you don't need to crazy backstories or special abilities to create interesting characters. I, for one, have never made a character with the intent of being anything more than a normal wizard, and have had many different characters, plots and threads on here, which were all unique and fun still.
