In the year 2016, a virus named VT3 wiped out nearly 2/3 of the world's population. That was the year of chaos. Governments, countries, cities, everything fell apart. Nothing could be done to stop VT3, it was immune to everything humans could throw at it. In desperation to keep the human race alive, mankind fled into bunkers and tried to ride out the storm. This was futile, however....

A year later in 2017, a man by the name of Zoticus Celsus created a cure for the virus. This brought about the end of the time of terror and darkness. As humans rose from the ashes of their destroyed world, they found everything had changed. They had to adapt quickly or meet a swift end. This period of time brought about the House Rules, city-states which were ruled by 8 Houses of Nobles each.

The year is now 2077. The world has changed greatly; 7 House Rules remain, environments have shifted, animals have completely mutated, and the invention of Hunts has come about. Our story begins in one of the few surviving capitals of the new world, The City of the Platinum Rose. It is the third strongest House Rule under the Asianic and Antarctic House Rules. Where once Washington D.C. stood, now this city rises. You may be asking by now what these city-states look like. Well, they are circular in shape, and are comprised of three layers. The first layer, the very center of the city, is where the Nobles dwell and hold their meetings to make important decisions for the city. Just beyond the large wall that surrounds the first layer is the second layer. The second layer is where all of the middle class people and industrial workers live. And beyond this middle layer is the last layer. This final layer is for the lower class; hunters, fishers, farmers, etc. Don't begin to think that this city is the size of a normal city. The before mentioned ruins of Washington D.C. is only in the outer most ring. The City of the Platinum Rose cuts through modern Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, and completely engulfs West Virginia.

In this large city, people are celebrating after a successful Hunt, a survival game where a law offender is thrown out into the wilderness to survive until a Hunter comes for them. The whole thing is screened on televisions across the city, and Nobles allow everyone to take time off from work to watch the Hunt. Everyone has been brainwashed into thinking that these events are perfectly ok and provide great entertainment. What they don't realize is that the "offenders" could have committed such a small crime as looking at a Noble wrong. But who cares? It's all in good fun, right?
