Why can't we have a cloudy day oh sun, oh sun, oh why Why can't we have a bit of rain oh sun, oh sun, oh why the heat, oh how it kills us this summer weather is just too much
Be generous and hide behind the clouds oh sun, oh sun, oh please Just let us have a windy day oh sun, oh sun, oh please Summer is a time for fun not this blistering heat
We want to go out for a walk but it's way too hot, oh sun Just go rest for a while it's getting way too hot, oh sun summer is joyful, but not in 106 degree weather summer is joyful, but we would like it to be cool, too[/b]

The shadows are written on the walls Tell of summers past The flowers, they bloom after Winter, creating fields of rainbows and sunshine.
The stories our old folk have told us Keep repeating Every 9 months, we see Something different from everything else And just around the corner we'll hear
The birds are chirping, singing to their babies The sky is falling And lightening comes shining through And as we all dance around the magical fire
We love to watch the earth come alive
Theres only one word we know that could explain this One word that fits it all together And as we hum and drum out a beat The earth and the happiness dance as one
We all think of that word in one tiny second of hope Summer.[/center]

Twenty pairs of eyes are glued to the clock hands grip pencils and feet twitch nervously underneath desks The bell rings, and screams issue through the halls hundreds pour into the street, smiles blazoned across happy faces Bright sunlight captures each pearly smile the summer is here
Forty pairs of eyes cry underneath a middle easter sun wounds cover their already callused hands, appendages twitch without their doing Gunshots fill the air, and screams issue through the desert hundreds run out to greet them with blood smeared across determined faces Men and women lie beneath the sun, their American pride swept away after one mission this was supposed to be their summer too
{I know it's crap, and particularly bleak, but I felt like writing something that wasn't typical}

Smeared Detail Alone, I absorbed myself in the restoration of a painting. Remember the oil pastel we had left out in the sun too long? It provided me with the satisfaction of something to salvage. Together, we had stretched wet canvas over the inconvenience of space. You left it to dry, while I was consumed with the surface. It was the size of canvas you had chosen for "A Picnic Scene." I said it was too grand for the soft nature of my style. Now the lady with the pink and white sun hat sits smudged, and while her twin boys roll around on a smeared blanket, the sky runs into bleeding dandelions
