So, we've had a rule in the PB Claim that it must be a person since about 2007 or 2008 when some felt awkward having real people interacting with anime characters. Which totally makes sense unless this was a roleplay about real people jumping into a cartoon or drawings, which it of course is not.
However, after our newest TBer, Leonidas, asked the other day about the rule, I did some thinking. Technology has come a far way in the past decade in terms of digital art. While we definitely won't be accepting anime/cartoons, etc., there are a lot of video game characters, CGI and digital paintings that look VERY real now.
So I'm thinking that we could allow those depictions for characters as well. But I don't know if people would still feel uncomfortable roleplaying their real person portrayed character with a CGI/realistic painting character. So please vote on what you would like us to do. <3
Pretty much, art would be acceptable as long as it isn't a caricature, simple drawing, anime, cartoon or otherwise looks unrealistic. What would be accepted would be realistic CGI (like the movie Alita or some recent and advanced CGI character design in video games - I'm not that into those types of RPGs, so if someone wants to give examples, please do) and digital paintings.
