As I'm sure you're all aware, we've been around for over a decade (2006) and roleplayed many years on here. We did do a 'time shift' back in 2010 and went back to 1991. We have no plans of doing that again on here as everything is going okay and there are so many exciting things happening for the main plot and individual plots and threads too. (:
However, we did want to allow people to roleplay in 1991 again. I can speak for myself when I say that I miss it and lately I have a lot more. I have thought about this for a few years and finally have done it - TB is expanding to another forum server as well! This will not affect the original TB in any way. We are NOT moving. I would never move TB unless it was drastically necessary. We have too much history and awesomeness on here and I do prefer Proboards anyway. But I know a lot of people who don't prefer Proboards so this TB Expansion serves two purposes: We can roleplay the book years again! And also we can meet more new people who might not otherwise join if they don't understand or like Proboards.
To prevent confusion, the expansion will be known as 'Timeline3'. There is a link to the original TB on there and there will be on one here in the advertising boards so anyone can join both sites if they wish. However, you don't need to. We don't expect you to bring over all your characters - you don't have to join the expansion at all if you don't want to. But we wanted to inform you about this since you are all part of the TB family and obviously should be in the know about something like this. (: But again, this won't affect your experience on TB here in any way. (:
Please also know that it'll also be relatively more simple than TB. No clubs, contests, Gringotts, no exam buttons, no top posters awards (it's only because of Proboards that we can even track that easily here, lol), no Weekly Prophet or constant Daily Prophet (only when super needed). No strict professor rules. It'll mostly just be roleplaying, Quidditch and main plot threads.
This site - the main and original TB - will always be top priority. The expansion is just an opportunity for us to dive into 1991 again and to reach out to other members who we might not be able to meet otherwise.
(Also please note that we are using the same c-box at the moment as both are TB - but if it gets too confusing, I'll make a separate one.)
