It may be in the second half of April, but I thought it was a good time so we're all on the same page with all of the happenings on TB. There's a lot going on right now, which is quite exciting, but possible to miss because there are many different things about it. So you should be able to find all of the happenings from here. (:
As you (should) know, Britain is now at war. Not a lot has happened in character-ly yet because as I said, we're going to have some fights set up. Not everyone has joined the NDS (Britain) or Legion (Italy), but that doesn't mean you won't be affected. Civilians will be involved as always - caught in the crossfire or even just helping out against a foe. I'm going to soon post a thread for these potential scenarios, though it's up to you guys to start your threads once there are enough people signed up for it. (: We're giving you the basis and it's up to you to run with it. =D Also, if you have any ideas for battles/fights/other plot developments concerning the war, either propose it in that thread or just do it. (:

The Daily Prophet is where we post a lot of the plot updates as well as other happenings (such as Quidditch coverage, etc.), so make sure to check it out every so often. (: The link to the most recent article is always in the top table (scroll down through the news to the bottom) and is usually an announcement as well. If you ever want to write one or just have an idea for one that you would like to be written, PM me or Rick (Cameo Walker).
The Activity Check ended today and all of the accounts that weren't safe were unsorted. If you wish to come back, please do! We don't delete applications and you don't have to post again in the Sorting Ceremony. Simply PM any staff member to get your account resorted (though as a note, probably any other staffer would be faster than me right now, lol).
This is something new! Always when deleting the accounts that have been inactive for 6 months, Sickles disappear with them. So I thought I would calculate how many were being lost from those accounts and give them back to you guys. =D So there is a Lottery that you can enter for FREE. All you have to do is post. (: 15 people will get 812 Sickles. I know that's such a random number, but it's the total Sickles divided by 15. Only catch is that you can only sign up once. <3 But hopefully this will keep happening, so we'll do it again in 3 months too. (:
IT'S BACK! Two years ago (in roleplaying time), we had our first Duelling Tournament. (: Okay, well technically speaking we did one back in like 2007, but still. It's the first with this system, lol. Anyway, there are spots for 16 students! So sign up while you can. =D It was originally 32. But if enough people want to enter that would make it to 32 students participating, I will totally open it up to 32 again. But the plan now is to do 16 and then do another 16 person duelling tournament later on in the year. (: Probably April-ish in roleplaying time.

Not only do we have a tournament, but we also have clubs! It's a fun way to explore your character's passions when it comes to their hobbies and what they like in school. It's also great to throw your character in with quite a few people at once, so they can get to know more people quicker. (: And finally, you do get Sickles & buttons for your Gringotts thread at the end of the term if you participate in club meetings. (:
If you're not in any clubs yet, here are the club sign-ups. In that thread, you can see where the meetings are. You can either check those locations for the meetings or even PM the club leader to see if it's started yet or if you have any questions about the club (links to the Leaders' profiles are also in the sign-ups thread <3).
Just a general note that classes have started. (: Professors of Hogwarts and Firenze have until April 20th to post a lesson (though most have already anyway) with the exception of professors that were accepted after the start of term. While you don't get Sickles for class participation, you do get nifty buttons and it's also fun too. (: House Points are dependant upon the professor. Most do give them out, but the amount and for what depends on them (ex. some may just do it on attendance, while others might only give out House Points to those who do homework).
At the end of term, the top five people who earn the most House Points win awards! Here are the top ten at the moment:
